You had known Su hyeok for a long time, being that you lived very close to each other and always attended the same school. You had both seen and known each other through all the awkward phases teenagers go through. You had even become his tutor several times throughout the years, when teachers noticed he was far behind or struggling.

You had even been there when he started hanging around the wrong crowd and became a bully. While you were scared of him, you had always tried to help his victims get help without actually getting involved.

But recently, Su hyeok seemed to have changed for the better. Going from hanging out with bullies and getting into stupid pointless fights to trying to help others and trying his best at school.

You were proud of him, of course, but never really told him. Another thing you never really told him was about the secret admirer letters you left every morning on his desk.

You weren't really sure when it was that you started liking Su hyeok, the only thing you knew was that his every smile, every glance he sent your way, and every time he talked, only made you fall deeper in love with him.

Even his wrong answers to easy questions seemed endearing to you.

That's why you were currently standing near the entrance of the school as Su hyeok had asked you this morning, fiddling your fingers as you waited for him. He had promised that after lunch, the two of you would meet up at the school's entrance go "somewhere fun" because he had something important to tell you.

The curiosity of what he meant was eating you alive. You didn't even have the patience to eat, instead opting to stand at the entrance and wait.

And then, the sound of glass shattering and a huge thud made you turn.

Your eyes widened in horror as you spotted one of Su hyeok's old bully friends, blood spilling down his face from what looked like a huge bite on his cheek. He was on top of another student, seemingly taking a huge bite out of his neck.

You gasped, taking a step back as your hand covered your mouth in horror. The bully looked up from his victim, snarling at the people in the soccer field. He jumped up, lunging himself at the person nearest to him.

You were petrified, staring at the scene in front of you.

It happened once again, the sound of glass shattering and the thud. The same scene was repeated with different people. At this point, people out in the field were running anywhere where they could find safety.

Then a hand landed on your shoulder. You jumped back instinctively, turning around, ready to punch whoever it was.

Su hyeok. You sighed in relief, but he gave you no time to talk. Instead, he pulled your hand and started running.

He pulled you along, dodging several people, pushing others out of the way. After seeing that the entrance of the school was full of, you weren't sure what to call them, crazy people, zombies? Whatever they were called, they were blocking the entrance.

Su hyeok continued running, looking for a place to hide the two of you. You could only watch and run behind him as those things started running behind you.

Knowing that you didn't want to become one of them, you tightened your grip Su hyeok's hand, picking up your speed. You both paused when you found a ladder. The janitor was currently trying to fight them off, only to be thrown off as you two arrived close enough to climb on.

Without hesitation, Su hyeok let go of your hand for a brief moment to climb the ladder. You glanced back at the zombies that had been following you, seeing that they were closing in.

"Sun-hee! Hurry, get up here!" Su hyeok was sticking his head out of the window of a classroom, encouraging you.

Without looking back, you climbed the ladder as quickly as humanly possible. As you got to the last steps, you felt the ladder rattle under you.

Su hyeok grabbed your upper arms, pulling you in at the last second before the ladder fell.

You took several short breaths, clutching your chest as Su hyeok dropped to the ground.

He looked as terrified as you were, also panting. "That's it, isn't it? Zombies."

You sat against the nearest wall, trying to catch your breath as Su hyeok approached you. He sat beside you, also struggling to breathe normally.

You could only glare at the zombies as they stared into the classroom and tried to get in.

"Let's try to find a phone," Someone suggested, but you were too busy with your own wellbeing to care who it was.

"Fuck," Su hyeok whispered beside you. "It got ruined. Now I can't confess."

You pushed aside the feeling of almost dying, "Confess?"

Su hyeok's head turned in your direction, his eyes wide. "You heard that?"

"You're literally right beside me, idiot. Of course I heard you. You said you were going to confess. To who?"

"To you."

"What?"

He smiled nervously, "Don't act like you don't like me back, okay? I know you left the letters."

You looked away, hoping to hide your obviously embarrassed expression. "How do you know?"

"You always let me borrow your notes. I realized the handwriting was identical a couple weeks ago." You both looked up at your frustrated classmates who were arguing about phones before returning to your conversation.

"I'll confess to you as soon as we get out of here. But right now, let's help them so that we don't die, okay?"
