You were getting ready for school, as you said goodbye to your parents you made sure you don't forget to take the gift you bought with you. Running outside you meet up with Joon-yeong who was already waiting for you "come on! We're gonna be late if we wait any longer" you said running past him "yah Sun-hee! hold on, wait for me!" He yelled stumbling a bit before trying to catch up with you
Arriving at school, you were both thankfully on time. Breathing heavily next to you is Joon-yeong, he readjusted his uniform and turns to you.
"is it fixed? Nothing's messed up right?"
"Of course, if I'm honest you're always perfect... however"
you readjusted his glasses that were slowly slipping off

you handed him a handkerchief
"you're sweating buckets" he gladly takes it, cheeks a bit flushed both from the running and the compliment you gave him. Mumbling a quick thanks, you both walk side by side towards class.
Class went by like usual with you sitting next to Joon-yeong and stealing glances at him every now and then thinking he wouldn't notice. But how can he not notice? Especially when you're looking at him so intensely. A smile plastered on your face that he finds absolutely adorable as he tries his best to stay focused in class.
Once it was break time, you both went to eat with the others. In the cafeteria people are giving chocolate and love letters everywhere, some lucky and were accepted while some others...not too much.
"Yah Sun-hee, Joon-yeong, do you plan on giving anyone gifts today?" Woo-jin who's sitting next to you asked suddenly
"no, not exactly. Why?" You lied, of course you brought something. It's just that you knew him and Dae-su would tease you non-stop if they knew about the gift.
"man, you're no fun" Dae-su who's sitting next to Joon-yeong chimed in.
"How about you Joon-yeong?" Woo-jin asked this time
"same like Sun-hee, I don't have anything planned for today"
"if you two really have nothing to do then you both should get together already! It's like the perfect day!" Dae-su exclaimed while Joon-yeong scoffed hitting him in the head "yah don't say such nonsense like that, you might make Sun-hee uncomfortable" he said making eye contact with you before he immediately looked away to hit the man beside him again "okay, okay I was just joking" Dae-su puts his hands up in defeat. Laughing at the two bickering you all spend time chatting away, before you know it break was already over.
Standing up, you whispered to Joon-yeong "yah Joon-yeong, meet me outside the science club room after school would ya? I need to tell you something!" However, before he can say anything back you're already running towards class "not again" he sighed.
"Sun-hee, wait up!"
After school, Joon-yeong waits for you at the spot you mentioned. You were helping the homeroom teacher with bringing some books back to the office, those simple act of kindness are one of the few things he adores about you.
Fiddling with his uniform he wonders why you asked him to meet here in the first place 'maybe they're asking me out? No no, I doubt that...but it is valentine's day... or maybe they need help with a subject?' He wondered to himself 'Yeah that seemed to make the most sense' as he kept daydreaming he didn't hear your ever approaching footsteps.
"Hey Joon-yeong!" you yelled, snapping him back to reality "Hopefully I didn't keep you waiting too long" you jogged up to him stopping beside him "oh it's okay" He scratched his neck, slightly tensed after getting caught off guard "so uh, what was it you want to talk about?" He changed the subject hoping you wouldn't notice how flustered he was.
You take a deep breath working up the courage to speak your mind, the energetic and confident facade you had was gone "I've actually been meaning to tell you this for a while but uh, I guess I just wanted say it on a special day like this" you brought out the gift you neatly wrapped all night and handed it to him "happy valentine's Day Joon-yeong, I...have really liked you, no, love you for quite a while now, and well I was wondering if you want to ya know...become a thing?" You mumbled the last part becoming more and more shy as the words spilled out
Joon-yeong stood there shocked at the sudden confession until he adjusted his glasses and uniform before finally taking a deep breath and answering you "I...I love you too Sun-hee...God I'm sorry I'm just not exactly good at this kind of confessions but I don't want you to take it the wrong way but i-" he rambled on frantically looking everywhere except at you until you grabbed his hand "just take the gift Joon-yeong, that already proves to me that you do like me" he finally looks at you as you nod reassuringly at him "thanks, I mean it Sun-hee" he smiles, letting his calm, cool, and collected facade slip away.
"is it okay if I open the gift?" He asked fumbling with the ribbon "well duh, it's your gift after all" you rolled your eyes as you lean on the wall "I hope you like it"
He opens the gift, looking into the box he notices a personalized note taped onto two books. 'i noticed you've been wanting to learn about anthropology and want something new to read, so I got you these! I personally read them myself so I know you'll definitely like it, seeing how I got good taste in books' he chuckles to himself 'i hope you enjoy them Joon-yeong' the note ends with a smiley face and a heart.
Remembering something, he turns to you "actually, hold this for a bit would you?" he gave the gift back "I forgot something in the science room. I'll be right back" he hurries back into the room as you wait for him outside, laughing to yourself as he stumbles while opening the door.
Walking out the door Joon-yeong stood next to you "here" you looked down to see a small robot on the palm of his hands "the science club were learning how to make one. it's not much but uh, I personally made it for you so i hope you still like it" he said as he waits for some sort of reaction from you.
After a few seconds you finally answered "thank you Joon-yeong, I... absolutely adore it! It's just so adorable and the fact you made it for me is just...so sweet" you said, smiling as you hold the little gift in your hands "so does this mean... we're a thing now?" Joon-yeong glance at you hoping you say yes "only if you want it to be" you winked "I do" "well then come on! I still need to take you on a proper date" you pat him in the back as you happily jog your way outside
Joon-yeong never expected valentine's Day to ever be this special but here he is, pondering at how grateful he is to have met you as he hope this never ever ends.
