this wasn't how it was supposed to be. it was supposed to be the two of you getting the hell out of this go forsaken nightmare alive, but now here you were being hurdled by zombies.

even after the many protest by the others, sun-hee just couldn't leave cheong-san alone, knowing the risks, they went after him.

"why are you here? it isn't safe. go, go back to the others, its safe there" cheong-san tried to push away the person who always sat in his heart.

it always hurt to watch them cry, he'd say, watching the waterfall of emotions pour from those precious eyes he used to admire on a daily, that would hold so much joy. but all he saw now was grief and sorrow.

he would do anything if it meant he could take away what was held in those eyes of yours, to bring back the sparkle. but how could he do that, when the actions he's about to do will cause more?

"i couldn't just watch you go right after we started something new, i promised to be with you no matter what the lengths are." it was harder to talk, especially when zombies are keen to sound, it was hard to talk through the cracks and shaky breathes.

he understood this would hurt not only him, but them too and it already did to the others, they promised on-jo not to lose anyone anymore. but it was for the best, in order for gwi-nam to keep away from the others, he needed to fight him alone, even if it meant not being able to see the love of his life anymore.

"i know this hurts, i know it does, and i love you, but i want you to be safe, okay? we'll meet again someday, in another life okay? just please, go, i don't want you to get hurt." he wiped the tears off of their cheeks, pushing down sobs.

but it was too late trying to make them go back when a boy in a bloody white "one heart" jacket bit their shoulder, pulling some flesh off in the process. a blood curdling scream left both their lips, terror quickly replacing the once love-sick filled eyes.

gwi-nam harshly tosses sun-hee onto the wall by the elevator shaft, before cheong-san could check on sun-hee and inspect the bite mark, gwi-nam started talking.

"you know, i thought it was gonna be super fun to kill you. but not anymore. i'll kill you even if it isn't fun." the boy with a mullet said through evil breathy laughs.

"stop acting tough. what do you think? you look cook? nobody thinks that way. you're just scared you'll get caught for killing the principal. you're still a coward and a loser, even being physically violent with other class men. how much lower can you stoop?" cheong-san said, his hand grabbing a handful of dust as he was getting up "i have nothing to fear. i'm not scared of you, either."

once cheong-san got up, he was quick to throw the sand into gwi-nams eyes and then hitting him with the metal pole nearby.

so much was happening, and sun-hee tried so hard to turn around but it hurt so much, cheong-sans muffled grunts rang through their ear as their body refused to move. the stinging pain quickly spreading as their body abnormally ticked, dirt getting all over their wound only made the sensation worst.

suddenly cheong-san is yelling so loud, all sun-hee could do was turn and scream at the sight, their body was sore, so much was happening but nothing could compare to what happened to the light of their life.

"CHEONG-SAN, NO! YOU MONSTER!" gwi-nam only laughed at their pathetic yells and cheong-sans weak movements.

once cheong-san managed to get close to sun-hee he wrapped his arms around their body securely, breathing out "it's ok, you'll be ok, i love you, i've got you." to which they replied with a painful

 "i love you lee cheong-san."

the three students could sense the ground shaking, cheong-san jumped into the elevator shaft. gwi-nam getting caught in the explosion.

cheong-san's eyes snap open, groaning in pain before realizing the situation he's in. he's searching around, looking for a familiar frame.

once he see's sun-hee's burns and wounds, he tries to get them to wake up, yelling into their face, losing hope with every tear he shed.

he holds them tightly in his arms, crying out the loudest he could. why did it have to be them? why couldn't he be dead? why couldn't he just die instead of them, or die with them?

"damn idiot. why didn't you just go with them? this wouldn't have happened to you. we're supposed to stay together no matter the lengths, right? god, you're so stupid sometimes."

acceptance.

calming down after the many sobs that's escaped his dried lips—the tears that finally cleared sun-hee's face— he was finally able to whisper through a shaky voice "i'm sorry i couldn't protect you. i'll miss you and love you forever no matter what. maybe in another life i'll be able to eat chicken with you and mom. you'll always be in my heart."

as he carries sun-hee's lifeless frame to a nearby tree for a proper burial, he meets namra who's heart breaks at the sight.

they both mourn the death of another friend and significant other in each others company, also mourning the memory of the others whom they lost in the battle.
