They soon arrived at Hogwarts and Harry remembered how much he really had missed the castle. Looking up at it made him feel happier than ever. He was home. But Harry must have been staring up at it for too long because Hermione pulled him by the
arm and made him walk with her. "Honestly, Harry, you're blocking the train exit."

They started walking to the carriages that would take them from Hogsmeade station to the castle. The thestrals were attached to them and waiting for their riders. Harry saw the gamekeeper, Hagrid, waving to him as he walked with the others. He waved back and smiled. He was looking forward to a visit with Hagrid in his cabin.

Harry, Ron, Hermione, Ginny, Neville, and Luna all clambered into a carriage. A few minutes later they felt a jolt and the thestrals started pulling them up to the castle. As they came closer to the castle Harry felt more and more happy.

"When will we be there?" Ron groaned, massaging his stomach and staring upward as through there was something interesting on the ceiling of their carriage. "I'm starving."

"Oh, shut up, Ron," Hermione snapped, but smiling to herself all the same. Harry grinned and leaned back against the seat.

They soon arrived at the gates of the castle. Everyone got out of their carriages and walked up through the large double doors and into the entrance hall. The entrance
hall looked as amazing as ever. The torches were lit and the walls that had been destroyed in the war had been repaired.

Everyone walked into the great hall where the start of term feast would be held. Once Harry, Ron, and Hermione had found seats at the Gryffindor table they started looking around the hall to greet other people they knew. Dean Thomas and Seamus Finnigan waved to them cheerfully as they walked by. Cho Chang waved to Harry and blushed from the Ravenclaw table too. Harry waved back which made Hermione roll her eyes at the way Cho was acting.

The sorting ceremony soon started and the new students looked terrified as they joined their house tables. Once it had ended, which according to Ron took forever, the food magically appeared on the golden plates. Ron groaned with delight which made
Hermione roll her eyes again.

As they ate they talked happily with Nearly Headless Nick, the Gryffindor ghost. He was telling them stories about Peeves which made them all full of laughter. Peeves was the school poltergeist who loved to cause trouble. He was never at the feast because if he was it would be total chaos.

Nearly Headless Nick drifted away from them some time later to go greet the new Gryffindors. After a few minutes Ron tapped Harry on the shoulder with a perplexed look on his face.

"What?" Harry said, turning to face Ron who wasn't looking at him but in the opposite direction.

Ron pointed to the Slytherin table. "It's Malfoy. I didn't expect him to be here. Did you?"

No...Harry had not expected Malfoy to be here. But there he was, chatting to
Pansy Parkinson and Blaise Zabini. He stared at Malfoy. It was as though he had been stunned. But Malfoy looked up and saw Harry watching him. Harry came back to reality
and quickly spun around to face Hermione again. She was watching him carefully but Harry ignored her, lost in thought about Malfoy.
