Meredith made sure to do some shots, she knew that would make her feel more relaxed, she had persuaded Derek into doing some but he stopped at two, to which she joked to him that he wasn't a real man.
Now she was dancing, totally relaxed and Derek was seeing a different girl to the one he was used to. Her hips were swaying with the music as she sang with her group of friends, their arms up in the air enjoying themselves. Derek was stood leaning against the doorframe watching, more specifically watching her hips and short skirt raise higher and higher.
"Eyes on the prize man?" Mark joked as he appeared back next to Derek, his hair messier than previously.
"Enjoy yourself?" Derek joked.
"Very much." Mark patted his shoulder and they done their manly handshake thing.
"One down, one to go." Mark whispered referring to Meredith as the one to go.
"She looks so relaxed, like she's really enjoying herself." Derek said as he turned back to watch her again, her smile brighter than ever.
"She'll sure be enjoying herself later." Mark winked.
Derek didn't say anything because he didn't want to swallow his pride in front of Mark so instead he snorted approvingly and grabbed another beer.
"Damn, those legs." He heard Mark say.
"Right." He agreed, he had to, no one could deny how beautiful Meredith was, even her long legs brought male attention.
"Imagine them wrapped around you." Mark winked.
That set Derek off, he wanted to imagine her legs around him so badly as he pleased her. Before he could reply he noticed Meredith talking to a boy, not only talking but laughing, her hand resting on his chest.
"You sure that's Grey? That is not the girl we go to school with?" Mark asked nodding towards the two, Derek couldn't help but feel jealous.
"I told you, she's different." His words had alternating meanings but Mark didn't need to know that.
They watched closely as the guys hands went to her waist and swayed with her hips, he whispered something into her ear, a seductive smile appearing on his face as Meredith suddenly looked uncomfortable, like her sobriety was becoming more present.
The two boys noticed this and turned to see if one another had seen the same reaction. They turned back and saw the boys hands moving around the waistband of her skirt as Meredith's own hands tried to push them away. They knew now that the had to interfere.
Mark was first to step forward, Derek following quickly behind him, they got to her in time to here her saying, "no, stop", "I said no".
"Did you not hear her the first time?" Mark asked and he pushed his shoulder away from Meredith.
"Who are you? Her boyfriend?" The boy scoffed and all his friends gathered behind him.
"No, I'm not. But I'm her friend and if she told you to stop than you should stop." Mark said argumentatively.
"If she didn't want me to touch her, she shouldn't be dancing that way."
"She can dance however she wants."
"Dancing like a whore will only get her in one place." He laughed as he friends followed.
"She's not a whore, don't speak about her that way." Mark stuck up for Meredith, all bets forgotten.
"Or what?" The guy encouraged him.
"Or this" Mark said before swinging his arm and punching him in the nose.
Derek quickly grabbed Meredith by her shoulders and pulled her away from the crowds, noticing a tear roll down her cheek.
"Hey, hey. Ignore him, your not a whore." Derek said looking into her eyes.
"He's right." Meredith bowed her head down as she started to cry.
"He's not Mer. Do you want me to take you home, I'm not over the legal limit yet." He offered.
Meredith smiled and nodded her head and they headed towards the front of the house without saying any goodbyes.
