My wrists were bound to the sides of the medical table. It was made from a strong thick metal that made it hard for me to break away from. The guards were surrounding the room ready to shoot if I tried to escape.
A doctor came up to me and began to place these electrode stickers onto the sides of my head and two on the left and right side of my chest just below the collarbone. As the doctor connected the electrode to a wiring, Karpov walked towards me.
"Something is blocking you from losing your memory and we intend to find out what it is," Karpov said to me. "The doctor is going to run some tests. We will discover how to break you, little girl. You should do your best to cooperate. The sooner you do, you will be able to do the tasks that the world needs you to do."
I didn't bother to say anything to him. It was useless to talk to him. There were already countless times where I begged him to let me go, but he wouldn't. The more I begged, the more I would get tortured.
The doctor began the machine, making me scream. Strong shocks pierced through my body. It was stronger than the memory suppressing machine's. My hands balled into fists as the pain didn't end. My whole body stiffened and shook uncontrollably.
The doctor stopped the machine, making my body relax, but my body still twitched from the energy. My jaw felt sore and my vision was blurred. I weakly turned my head to the side to see what the doctor and Karpov were looking at. There was a few monitors that showed my brainwaves, along with others things I didn't understand. The doctor said something to Karpov, making him look at me then back at the doctor to talk some more.
Karpov came up to me and started muttering something, but from the ringing in my ears from the electroshock, I couldn't understand completely what he was saying. I closed my eyes, but Karpov struck me to wake up.
"It would seem that your healing capability is making things complicated for you. It appears we're going to have take extra special measures for you, Little Luna." He looked at the doctor. "Keep testing her. I want to see how much that little brain of hers can handle. Full power if you have to."
I squeezed my eyes shut as the doctor walked away to follow the orders that Karpov gave him. I took deep breaths as I tried to compose myself, but I couldn't control my fear. I didn't want to go through the pain again. I tried pulling at the restraints, but they wouldn't budge. The doctor pressed a button and the machine went off again. This time, the pain was more intense. I screamed until my throat became hoarse.
It felt like an eternity when the pain finally stopped. I was so weak that the guards had to drag me to my cell. I laid on the cold floor in a fetal position. My body still tremored as if I was still being electrocuted. My muscles felt tense, my jaw stiff, I couldn't even open my eyes from my headache.
The door to my cell opened, making me cringe as footsteps approached me. I felt myself get hauled up to my feet. I struggled to stand due to my legs feeling like jello. Karpov entered with Petrov not far behind. Petrov smirked at the sight of me weak and in pain. Karpov walked up to me.
"What is your name?" He asked me.
I frowned at the questioned. I struggled trying to find the answer to his question. I couldn't even figure out how to speak. I wasn't even sure if I was moving my mouth or if words were being said.
"Seems like it might've worked after all," Petrov said with a wicked grin.
Karpov didn't seem convinced. "We'll check back in an hour. We'll bring her back to the doctor to see what the brain scan shows. From there, we will know what we are dealing with," he replied back. "Make sure the doctor gets another sample of her blood before her conditioning continues. I want to make sure we are thorough with the experimentation. She may be the key, but we just need to open the right door."
