Through my blurred vision, I saw someone rip the plates out of its place. A voice was mumbling something to me, but I was unable to hear the voice. It sounded so muffled as if I was underwater. There was even a loud high pitched sound that was also masking the voice. Slowly, my hearing returned and my vision returned.
"Focus on me, alright? We're here. You can do this. Look at me," he insisted frantically, holding my face upright. "Come on, can you hear me? Do you know who I am?"
I blinked, trying to find the words, but I felt like my jaw wasn't moving. Weakly, I moved my face away from his hands. I tried stretching my jaw by opening and closing my mouth to relieve the soreness, but it hurt. I licked my dry lips as I took in slow deep breaths before I looked up at him again. The blue green eyes stared at me worriedly. He placed his hands on my shoulders to keep me balanced. I squinted slightly, trying to piece together who he was with his masked helmet on. My eyes focused on the blue, red, and white shield that he held in his arm.
He made me look at him again. He removed his helmet. His face was familiar to me. I knew who he was. I knew I did."Do you know me?" He asked.
I closed my eyes and concentrated hard. "Steve," I whispered. "Steve...Rogers." I winced at my throbbing headache.
"What about you? What's your name?"
"...Iliana..." I took a breath. I winced at the pain from my jaw, letting out a soft grunt as I tried to relax my jaw a bit. "My name...Iliana."
"Is she alright?"
"Nat," I mumbled, looking at them. I groaned, tilting my head back as I sighed in relief. "What took you guys so long?"
Steve used his shield to break the left restraint. He moved to break open the right one, but froze when he saw my wound. "Oh, my God," he uttered in disbelief. Natasha looked over at it and covered her mouth. He quickly broke the restraint so that they could help me up.
"Iliana," Natasha muttered, hugging me. I weakly hugged her back.
"Can you walk?" Steve asked.
I nodded weakly, "Yeah."
Nat held her hands out to make sure I could steady myself. "We need to get you to the quinjet. I'll take her-"
"I'm not leaving without Bucky."
"Iliana-"
"I'm not leaving him," I insisted, looking at them. "He's the Winter Soldier again. We need to end this now. Petrov isn't going to get another chance at this."
Natasha grimaced, but walked over to a guard's body to hand me his utility belt. I slipped it around my waist. I grabbed the gun from the holster to make sure that the safety was removed. Natasha handed me com-link from her utility belt that I could wear. "Stark, do you have eyes on Dolohov?" Natasha asked through the comms.
"Barton and I can use some backup," Tony informed us. "I'm trying to hold off on using Code Green a bit longer. Nat, we need you if Rogers has Jersey secured."
"Go," Steve nodded. Natasha tilted her head towards me. "I got her. Go."
Natasha glanced at me one more time before she left to help Tony and Clint. "Where did Petrov and Bucky go?" I asked Steve.
"He used Bucky to get him out of here. Clint and Tony are surveying the area to make sure that Petrov doesn't leave this building."
"We can't let him leave this building with Bucky. Steve, I think I was able to reach out to him. I saw glimpses of Bucky when I tried using my powers on him. We need to hold him down and show him your memories. I tried doing it and something was happening to him. Steve, it's going to work."
