Chapter 12
They have been sitting silently in here for the past half hour. The temperature has skyrocketed and it is much hotter.
Dylan has sweat dripping down his face but he ignores it. All he can think about is how bad he screwed up. He wishes he can just apologize already to her but the darkness prevents him.
Liana hasn't uttered a word since he did what he did. She's so quiet that he has to remind himself that she is still there.
He hears some noise above them and the emergency lights come on. He squints his eyes because they are so bright. It takes a few more seconds for him to adjust to it.
Great, he thinks. Now you want to come on. Where were you about an hour ago.
The speaker system is up and working now. How about they cut on some air, that's what they need the most. Sadly it doesn't come on. It's burning up in here.
"This is officer John Wallace with the county's police department. Is everything all right down there."
Dylan wipes the sweat from his face with his shirt.
On the speaker system he hears the officer say in the background, "I don't think anyone's down there."
"Dylan's driver said that he came here over two hours ago and he's missing. He's supposed to be heading home. He never returned back to the limo with his bags and he never made it to his room." That would be Anthony speaking. He had no idea his cousin was here. "His translator has to be down there with him. I think her name is Brianna. I think?" He questions hisself.
Officer john says, "Brianna are you down there. Can you hear me. If so answer."
She remains quiet.
Dylan is pissed that he can't even remember Liana's name. Anthony is such an idiot at times.
He looks at her and is horrified at what he sees. She's laid out on the ground and looks to be out.
He rushes to her side.
Dylan taps her shoulder. She doesn't move.
He taps her again a little harder. He goes into full panic mode when she doesn't even bulge.
He shakes her but still nothing happens. He stands up suddenly and almost fall right back down. He's so dizzy and the world is spinning. He almost throws up.
He whistles loudly and bangs on the wall.
"That's him," Anthony shouts. "You better get him out of there before the press gets a word of this. Once they're here all hell will break loose."
Dylan's heart is racing and he can barely breathe.
He drops down and put his ear to her chest. Her heart beat is slow and her breathing is ragged.
He's seeing double as he blindly searches the room for her remaining clothes. He fishes around the floor for her bra and shirt and put them back on her. He could give a damn about how he looks.
He picks up her arms and they fall limply to her sides. He can't look at her any longer. The sight frightens him. She looks so lifeless.
Did he hurt her? He couldn't have. He wasn't that rough.
Even he's feeling some bad after effects. Or maybe he was to rough for her. Maybe he overdid it. Maybe the 'accident' hurt her more than he originally expected.
He beats on the wall again. Get me out of here. When he pulls his fist back it's red. He better slow down with the beating. He has a meet this weekend and having bruised hands wouldn't be the best thing.
