Chapter 31
Right now Liana is on her way to Dylan's house. He's out of town at a meet but his family is still at his house.
She has just got off work. Almost immediately after work she got a phone call from Jasmine inviting her to come out.
"Hey Liana. Are you free this afternoon."
"Yes."
"That's great. Today is my last day in town and I was thinking that you could join us girls for an evening out."
"And by girls, do you mean Dylan's mom and grandmother or the kids?"
"I'm talking about us moms," she laughed. "It will be fun I promise. Anthony and Pops took the kids out to play. Devin and his dad went for a joy ride around town to break in his new car. We women feel left out of the fun so we're dying to just get out the house."
Liana laughed. "Haha. Okay, I should be there soon."
She stopped by the gas station to gas up her car then change clothes. She has taken back to sleeping in her car because she didn't want to draw any possible negative attention to her staying with Dylan.
One of her new favorite person is behind the counter. "Lee your smile so big today."
She laughed at Ling. "It's has been a really good couple of days for me."
Devin's birthday dinner was by far the most fun she's had in a while. It was amazing. Dylan's whole family made her feel so welcome and at home. She fits in so well with them.
She's met a family that she likes, she has a best friend, a boyfriend, and Ray and Ling who treat her like their long-lost daughter. She has every reason in the world to be happy and thankful.
Months ago she didn't have the pleasure of saying that. She was lonely and hated her life. She's amazed at how everything has changed for her so quickly.
"I make famous Chinese dinner tonight. I will make plate just for you."
"Are you inviting me for dinner again?"
"Yes," the older woman smiled brightly. "You family now. My dinner is your dinner."
"Thanks, Ling but I don't think I can make it tonight. I have plans."
"Oh, that's okay. Come tomorrow night then."
"Okay," she laughed. "I'll be there."
"All right honey. Bye Bye."
Liana laughed and waved.
Later on the last two people left is Dylan's grandparents. Liana says her goodbye's and then head upstairs to give Dylan a little privacy.
His granddad and Devin go out to take their things to the car.
"Spit it out, son. You have looked like you have been dying to ask me a question all day."
He hesitates for a second before asking, "What do you think about her. Do you think she is the one for me."
She laughs. "Oh boy, I knew that you were going to eventually ask me that. Only you can know if she is really for you."
"Gran, just tell me what you think." He has been waiting for years for his grandma to approve of someone in his life. He really has a good feeling about her and he just wants to make sure that she thinks the same thing.
"Come give me a hug. I got to go now."
Dylan sighs and hugs her. He is really disappointed that she won't give her approval.
