Chapter 29
"Chels it's only Thursday," Liana said. "We're supposed to be working. Where are you going?"
Chelsea is dressed to impress, but it's not her uniform. She's wearing a gorgeous green sundress and an expensive pair of shades holds her long hair back. "To the meet of course. Vincino competes in the backstroke. Dylan should be competing today also. You should come."
She glances around the room at all of the people coming in. "We have a job to do. Remember?"
"I already talked to my dad. He'll watch the front area for us until we're back."
Liana sighed and got up. She guesses that it wouldn't hurt to go. She has always wanted the opportunity to see him compete.
"Yayy," Chelsea said. "Let's hurry up and get in there."
Inside of the pool area more places to sit have been added. There are hundreds of people here. It isn't free to watch these meets so thousands of dollars have been made from this event.
Chelsea has some space on the first row waiting for them. "You've already met Brittany. This is my other little sister Vera."
Vera is clinging to Brittany's arm. She timidly waves. Her hair is in a messy ponytail and she's wearing a shirt with all of the Disney princesses on it. She's so adorable like a little doll. She and Chelsea actually resemble each other.
"Hey," Liana waves back.
"And this is my brother Jace."
"A pleasure to meet you," he stood up and shook her hand.
This is the nerdy little brother that she's talked about. He's not little at all. He's tall with not a lot of muscle but he's really handsome... in that cute teenage kind of way.
And Brittany is supposed to be a nerd too. They are some of the most normal good looking nerds that Liana has ever seen.
She smiled at Jace. "I've heard a lot about you."
"Probably something about me being a big dork if Chelsea is the one who told you about me."
Liana looked at her and burst out laughing.
She rolled her eyes at him. "That's because you are a dork and all you do is dorky things."
"And should I describe you based on the things you do," he smirked.
She narrowed her eyes at him. "Don't make me hurt you," she warned him.
He laughed and sat back down. Liana and Chelsea squeezed into the small spaces by them.
Sometime later, Brittany got up to wave someone over. It is none other than Devin.
He came over and hugged her. "Hey." He fist pumps Liana and Chelsea and then gives Vera two high fives that make her giggle.
Then he daps Jace. "What's up bro." Jace has known for a while that Brittany was with him, so they became friends months ago.
"Nothing much. Man, how are you late when your brother was one of the first people here?"
Devin held up his brother's car keys. "I've been sleeping on the backseat. I was up all night talking to my babies. Mommy and Button."
Brittany blushed and Jace scowled. He might accept that the two of them are together but that doesn't mean he necessarily likes it.
Devin smiled. "There isn't any room left over here so I guess that means that you'll have to sit in my lap babe."
Jace immediately protested. "I don't think so." He sat Vera in his lap then pulled Brittany closer to his side. "There's some space for you now."
