Chapter 28
Early in the wee hours of the next morning, Dylan awakes to Liana wrapped in his sheets and flipping through the TV channels, and then the remote falls from her hand and she's back asleep.
It had been late evening when they made it upstairs, but still not early enough to go to sleep, but Liana had been exhausted. She had fallen asleep mid-sentence, and the rest had come out as a soft snore. He smiles fondly at the memory.
Words can not describe how beautiful she is in the morning. Her thick blonde hair is everywhere. He brushes it back so that he can see her lovely face. All he can think about is how this is the woman that he wants to marry one day.
He stares at her, watches the rise and fall of her chest, for what feels like hours until she finally wakes up.
She cracks an eye open and sleepily smiles when she looks at him.
He effortlessly smiles back. "Good morning."
She stretched her limbs before signing back, "Good morning. Again."
"How did you sleep?"
"Mmmm," she sighed dreamily. "So good."
He smiled and kissed her.
Dylan bedroom door abruptly opens.
"Dylan it's after 5. I can't believe I woke up before you- Whoa!" Devin cuts off to yell and slams the door.
Liana gasped and scrambled away to pull the covers over her head.
Dylan sat up and pulled the covers over his waist then glared at the door.
Devin held his hand up defensively. "I'm sorry! I thought you said you were taking her home last night. I didn't see you in the kitchen making breakfast so I figured that you had just overslept, but now I see that I was wrong... Not that I'm trying to say that you guys did anything. Okay, I'm going to leave now."
Liana pulled the cover from over her head and sighed.
He crawled back on the bed and was about to give her a kiss but she stopped him.
He stared down at her in questioning.
She shook her head. "No. Your brother just killed the mood."
A sudden thought crosses his mind that sent him racing out of bed. He has a meet today. He jumps out of bed.
"What's wrong," Liana sat up and wrapped her arms around herself.
"Nothing. I just forgot about a meet I have today."
"What time?"
"It's at 2:00."
"Oh okay," she said dryly. She doesn't understand why he's rushing.
He further explained, "I take morning jogs. Then I eat a big breakfast so that I will be full for a while until after my meet is over. It's not a good idea to have food on your stomach when you swim."
Dylan threw on some jogging clothes. "I have to stick to my schedule so that this day will stay perfect."
Liana yawned and laid back down. "Well don't forget that I have to be at work by 8. I'm about to get me about 30 more minutes of sleep in."
He smiled as he watched her curl under his covers. He wished that he could have had the chance to sleep in today to lay in the comfort of her presence. But sadly the time isn't on his side right now.
He quickly washed his face and brushed his teeth and went for a run.
Devin quickly caught up with him.
