Chapter 33
Liana wishes that she could jump to her feet and scream. Everyone around is. She claps for him and knows that when he looks at her he'll see how proud of him she is.
Dylan did it. He's moving further up in his dream to winning the Olympics. Dylan's parents hug and bounce up and down, laughing with joy.
The bleachers are shaking too much for her comfort. She grabs her purse and tries to find the quickest way to get away from all of these people. Her heart begins to race because there are people everywhere.
She is now over six months pregnant, and her health has slightly been declining but she is making her way. But with her pregnancy coming to an end soon, she has a fear beating at her that something will go wrong. It is just to good to be true that she has made it this far with no real big problem.
Not now. Please, not now. She tries to focus on her breathing and do that exercise thing that Dylan taught her.
She doesn't need this to happen right now. Not when her life is going good and she has everything she ever wanted. A loving family and friends that care for her. A job and money that she doesn't want but will definitely be a help in knowing that she will never be homeless again.
Claire looks down at her. "Honey, are you okay."
She shakes her head. She keeps counting and concentrated on her breathing. Finally, she calms down and regains control. She sighs. That was scary.
"Okay, let's get you out of here." She grabs her things. "Jeffrey we're heading outside." She helps Liana stand to her feet.
The people around her are going crazy, pushing the crowd back and forth. They knock into Liana a few times.
Jeffrey stands in front of women to try and block the shoves. "Let's go-" the crowd shoves so hard that they knock him over and he falls on his wife.
There's a rivalry going on. There are many fans of Dylan, but just as many fans for his opponent. Alcohol shouldn't have been a drink of choice at this event. Liana is knocked over and a guy trips over her and stomps hard down on her chest.
Liana gasp and can't seem to release the air.
Dylan's dad witnesses the guy step on her. "What the hell!" He shouts and pushes the guy off of her, accidentally to hard that he goes falling the opposite direction.
Liana continues to fight to breath and eventually feels air coming back into her, but her chest is on fire.
Claire drops to her knees. "Liana, it's going to be okay. Relax for me."
Dylan hears yelling in his ears and that is when he looks up and see a worried crowd surrounding something or someone.
That is when he hears a scream that causes his heart to stop.
"Dylan!" His mom screams. He runs through the crowd that is smart enough to part so that they don't get trampled.
The cheering and other noise slowly die down.
His world comes crashing down when he sees Liana laid out on the bleachers struggling to breathe. His mom is crying and his dad has called for an ambulance.
Dylan grabs on to her hand.
She looks at him and her eyes are dilated with fear. She can't squeeze his hand but she's squeezing his soul with her eyes.
"Stay with me. Everything is going to be okay." Even as he says the word he still has a feeling that this isn't going to be okay.
The medical staff rushes in with an oxygen mask. The fear in her eyes sends a pain in his heart. The oxygen mask isn't helping much.
