The Swim Club continued to work hard with their teamwork as well as their personal timings for the rest of the day, and when Heisuke arrived to the club the following afternoon, she found that Gou had arranged a perfect setting to perform the Shodo in the locker rooms – Shodo, which was the Japanese style of writing calligraphy with brush strokes and black ink.
Heisuke had been thrown in a whirlwind by Gou, who urged her to get dressed in a white hakamashita with pink hakama, reasoning that since she was named after a samurai, she must bring forward her expertise with the Japanese calligraphy to use.
"So, you're not asking me to do this because I'm the only one good with Shodo?" Heisuke inquired, and before Gou could yelp at being found out – "Okay, I will do it!"
Gou sweat-dropped as the pink-haired girl excitedly began to use the brush to dip it in the ink and stroke it across the pure white paper laid out in front of her, beginning with:
48 Days to the
Prefectural Tournament!
By this time, the rest of the club had arrived – all four of the boys had changed into their swimwear and were looking at the two girls curiously. Haruka tilted his head at the sight of Heisuke kneeling on the ground, wearing the hakama. He didn't understand why she always got in strange situations.
"Gou-Chan, you're still making Suke-Chan do all those?" Nagisa inquired, daring to answer the questioned that was on the mind of the four boys present.
"Can you stop that?" Rei added in, braving it out now that the blond had spoken up.
"Pressure is what pushes people to the next level," Gou told them as Heisuke continued to write through all the count-down. "Besides, Heisuke Senpai enjoys stuff like this!"
"Pressure can also ruin some people," Haruka pointed out but he internally wondered if he should ask Heisuke to do such stuff – however, he would rather do that when they were alone together, preferably at his home so he could entirely focus on her.
"Are you talking about Rei-Chan?" Nagisa asked.
"I'm not that weak!" Rei complained, taken aback at the accusation and Makoto chuckled at them all, shaking his head before he remembered the issue at hand.
"Wait, why are you wearing Hakama, Hei-Chan?" Makoto questioned.
"I got it for her!" Gou said a bit defensively for some reason. "Why? Doesn't it look good on her?"
"Of course, it looks great," Haruka answered before any of them could say anything further and he looked at Heisuke as she smiled blissfully at his compliment.
"Haru-Chan just selfishly stole Suke-Chan's smile," Nagisa teased and Makoto rubbed the back of his head – and it was then that Gou realised they were wasting time.
"Stop chit-chatting and go start with practicing!" Gou shouted at all the boys and they all went running out of the lounge to the pool. Haruka followed along. "Get going! Honestly..."
The boys had left the door to the locker room open, allowing a strong gust of wind that had been prevalent all day to come hurling inside, fluttering Heisuke's hair and blowing away all the pages that she had set aside to rest. Gou panicked at once.
"Oh no...!" Gou shouted as she rushed to grab them. "This is such a pain," Heisuke moved to quickly help her out with it all. "What's this? What did you find, Senpai?"
For Heisuke had reached down and pulled out what appeared to be a training regimen, "This is..."
"It looks like a training regimen!" Gou said excitedly. "It must have passed down in our predecessors – w should try this; I am certain we will win!"
