🌸 Chapter 8 🌸

For the remaining week, Heisuke, Haruka, Makoto and Nagisa worked hard on restoring the pool to its former glory. Heisuke kept a good eye on their daily budget as a manager, and Haruka designed them several ideas for possible recruitment posters for them so good that the Art Club members tried to drag him away but Heisuke caught them, extracting her friend away from them.

They worked throughout their free periods and after school so they could get started with their clubs as soon as possible. And they even gave up their lunch break to do so. It was one of those days that Haruka approached Heisuke as the bell rang, indicating the start of their lunch break –

"Hei-Chan," Haruka said as he got up from his seat and to where Heisuke was sitting in her desk in front of him. "Let's go... clean up the pool," Heisuke smiled widely at him.

"Of course, Haru-Kun!" Heisuke replied blissfully as she jumped onto her feet, picking up the two bento lunchboxes she had brought for the two of them. "We can have lunch together afterwards,"

Haruka nodded at her and the two of them left the classroom together, as Makoto was busy off to the faculty room to give in the notebooks to their Japanese teacher on the behalf of their class.

"If we clean the inside of the pool by the end of recess," Heisuke said as they entered the swimming club area. "We can start painting this afternoon,"

"Then, we must clean it by the end of recess," Haruka replied quietly and Heisuke grinned at him, nodding as she brought over two sweepers to him.

Both Heisuke and Haruka took off their coats and rolled their sleeves back, and Heisuke put her scarf aside and Haruka loosened his tie as he jumped into the pool. He turned to look at Heisuke as she walked over the edge and he reached to grab her waist, easily helping her into the pool.

"Thank you, Haru-Kun," Heisuke said and Haruka turned to smile at her but when his eyes fell on her appearance, he averted his eyes quickly as the tip of his ears turned red.

"Let's start," Haruka said and started to clean and Heisuke hurried over to help him out as well.

Heisuke worked hard as she swept and cleaned the pool, her thoughts slowly trailed off to when she had met Rin a few days ago. She had not shared this with anyone – Haruka, Makoto, Nagisa... not even Gou.

Quite honestly, Heisuke wasn't sure why she was keeping it from them and Heisuke hated hiding things from others, especially Haruka, but she still kept her mouth shut for some reason.

Later that Day:

Heisuke and Haruka had managed to sweep the entire pool clean and the surrounding areas clean, and Makoto had come down to join them in helping out when he saw them missing from their classroom and also not on the roof with their lunch. He had shaken his head at them but joined in.

At the end of their school day, Heisuke, Haruka and Makoto had changed into their green school tracksuit as they started to paint over the areas they had fixed up. Nagisa hurried out to help, too.

"It's cleaned up rather nicely!" Miss Amakata called out to the four students. She herself was sitting on the poolside chair with an umbrella to shield her from the sunlight.

"Can't you get out of that chair and give us a hand?" Nagisa asked her, leaning over the broom he was using to dust everything down.

"Do you realise that you're saying?" Miss Amakata inquired. "The UV rays this time of year are brutal. You're still young so it's not an issue,"
