Dream remembered the beach, the peacefulness. He'd accepted it, his time was out. The sun disappeared behind the horizon and as the light faded away, so did Dream as well.
But something pulled him back, or rather someone. He had awoken and looked upon the most beautiful person he'd ever encountered.
The situation was rather confusing at first and George tried his best to explain it. Something hit him while George explained everything.
"How did you manage to snap out of your mental prison? It was like talking to a wall."
The question left the brunette stunned for a moment. "I think it was your dreams. They somehow seem to always be intruding into my mind. The last straw, however, was probably when I saw you dying from your father's doing."
Dream tried to process everything. "What happened to them?" George gaze got cold and emotionless. "I killed them."
Dream's eyes widened. It was not what he expected. "... and I'd do it again without hesitation." The coldness still glazed his words until he sighed. "I thought I lost you. I tried to save you, but the blood loss was too severe."
Dream smiled. "You can't always be the one who's right, Georgie." George was about to answer but Dream pulled him into a hug before George could object. The warmth that he'd craved for so long was finally back. The cut on his chest ached when the brunette leaned against him but he couldn't care less.
Dream sat with his back against a tree, shirtless, because George insisted on keeping the wound visible in case it would get infected.
Dream felt okay, except for some minor bruises. He allowed himself to observe his beloved that had fallen into deep sleep against his shoulder. Traches of the countless tears and the stress was visible on his pale face. However, the dark locks were as beautiful as ever and the defined features and full lips remained the same as always.
Oh, George. You have me completely wrapped around your finger. Dream thought and he must've forgotten the mental shield or something because a quiet. "Good to know." Was mumbled against his shoulder.
"Did you just invade my mind again?" George lifted his head with a confused expressing painted on his face. "No, idiot. I've told you countless times that I can't do that without your permission." Dream assumed that he must've just let his guard down for a second.
But it sparked a different question. "You never gave me an answer regarding how you could see my dreams without my permission."
George looked away and didn't seem to know what to say. "Truthfully, I've no idea. Maybe it's your stupid soulmate-thing after all." Dream then proceeded to grab the other's jaw and turned his gaze towards him. He smirked "If that's the case then you know you're mine, right? Now and forever."
George scuffed. "Possessive much?"
"Only in certain aspects" Dream said with a hint of amusement. His hand reach George's hair and pulled one strand of hair behind his ear and took the opportunity to slip his hand behind the other's neck. Their lip connected once again. It was a feeling Dream would never get bored of, truly euphoric.
