It's my spare time, and I'm reading my taxation book in the library, but I'm stuck on the same page dahil ayaw mawala ni Brent sa isip ko. I'm just wondering if he's okay or not, well probably not.
Nasa pinaka dulo ako ng library kung saan hindi ako makikita kaagad ng mga estudyante, I don't want to gather some attention from the other students.
I heard some disturbance near the library's entrance, I noticed a strange uniform, and the instant I saw her face, I knew it was Ashley; she wanted to use the library, but our school's policy prohibits outsiders from using the library without permission from the school.
"Look, I know my cousin is in there, and I even know Brent, so I'm free to walk inside." she said like a spoiled brat.
Hindi na ako nakapag pigil pa so I sneaked out, doon na ako dumaan sa back part ng library kung saan may malaking bintana doon at tamang tama na may malaking puno sa harapan nito. Ready ako maging si tarzan today. Dali dali akong umalis at tumalon sa puno, it was my last step when I tripped over and luckily someone catch me, and it was Brent. "You really like strawberry shortcake that much huh?" He said and mischievously smiled at me and I just realized na strawberry shortcake pala yung shorts ko!
"FYI short ko yun hindi underwear!!" I said at agad na bumaba sa pagka karga nya, I was embarrassed kaya tumalikod ako sa kaniya. "Good thing at ako lang ang andito, at bakit ka naman dyan dumaan ha?" Kaniyang sabi at hinigit ako palapit sa kaniya para magka harap kami.
"I saw Ashley" I said at napairap nalang ako. "Hindi ba nasa ibang university sya?" Kunot noo niyang tanong. "I don't know, baka magtatransfer dito" I said at dinampot na ang mga nahulog kong gamit.
"Sama ka pala samin nina kuya Hiro" pahabol kong sabi, "and I don't accept no as an answer" hirit ko pa, selfish na kung selfish but I want him to unwind kahit mabilis lang alam ko naman kasi na outing naman ang binabalak nila Kuya kaya inaya ko na si Brent tutal magkaibigan din naman sila.
"Desisyon? Hahahaha oo na malakas ka sakin eh" He said and pinched my cheeks. "Dito na muna tayo? For sure andyan pa si Ashley, mamaya pa naman klase natin" He said at umupo sa ilalim ng puno at sumunod na din naman ako.
"Brent are you okay?" I asked and looked at him but he never throw a single glance on me, "Yes I am, but Tin let me ask you" he said and this time nakatingin na ito sa akin.
"If I choose to runaway, would you runaway with me?" He said while looking directly on my eyes, "Running away will never be the right choice, but if you choose to runaway I will never hesitate to follow your steps" I said at uniwas sa mga tingin neto. He tapped my shoulders at gulat akong pinatong nya ang kaniyang ulo sa aking balikat.
"Nakakapagod Liza, gusto kong mag pahinga but I can't" he said while closing his eyes, his head is resting into my shoulders. This is the first time he called me Liza, the only person who's calling me by my first name aside sa parents ko.
"Just rest for a while gaya nga ng sabi mo dati okay lang mapagod basta babangon" I said while patting his head. This is the Brent I know, masayahin pero sya ang pinaka mahina sa amin. At a young age sya na ang inaasahan ng Dad nya to take over their company that's why he didn't get the chance to enjoy his youth.
"Bait yarn? Hahahaha, tara na nga baka ma late pa tayo, ayokong mag kamali ng room ulit" he said at tumayo, he offered his hands to help me get up and I accepted it of course, "Thanks for staying Liza" he said and this time he hold my chin up in order for our eyes to meet.
"Sino nagsabi na aalis ako?" I said, bakas sa mukha nya na nahihirapan na ito, we haven't talked about it but I know he's hurting inside.
"I won't leave my bestfriend when he's at his worst" I said and plastered a genuine smile on my face. He continued held my chin up as he leaned closer towards me, I was too stunned that I couldn't react on his actions. I just closed my eyes in order for me to ease the awkwardness that I feel, I can feel that he's closer to my face. I felt his soft yet cold lips on my forehead. They said A forehead kiss means comforting someone, hindi ba dapat ako ang gumagawa non, because I'm the one who's comforting him?
I slowly opened my eyes and our gaze meet.
"For our long term friendship" he said and patted my head at tumalikod na, it was awkward but I decided not to think about it. I broke the silence by asking him again to come with us later.
"So sasama ka mamaya okay?" I said and jokingly punch his shoulders
"Oo na as if may choice pa ako diba?" Sabi nya at pabirong umirap sa akin kaya napatawa na lang din ako.
Hinatid nya ako hanggang sa classroom at mamaya pa naman kami magkaklase.
"Don't call me Liza okay" pahabol kong sabi dahil alam niyang ayaw ko na may ibang tumatawag sa akin maliban sa parents ko at sa kaniya.
"I know duh" he said. Aba parang mas attitude na ito sa akin ngayon, pasalamat sya at hindi ko sya ma biro biro ngayon.
"Tin? Is Ashley really your cousin?" One of my classmate asked me, tsk akala ko tapos na ako sa Ashley na to.
"Yes, bakit?" I said with a blank expression, I don't like talking about her.
"She's been shouting that she is your cousin, akala nga namin dito na mag aaral good thing she just came here to get some files for the upcoming events" one of my classmate said, buti naman hindi dito mag aaral.
After that conversation ay pumunta na ako sa desk ko and I saw a note "Banana milk for miss Tin *wink*" ang corny naman neto.
Agad kong kinuha ang banana milk at tinago ang letter, ng maubos ko na ito ah ibinato ko ito kay Elicton dahil alam kong sa kaniya galing to.
That guy keeps on making me smile, he seems so weird at first but if you know him well. Weird pa din!
