"Something is really amiss and I'm too late to realise"

Yibo POV

I awaited at his house until he came back from work. Because I ended up falling asleep in here and we both didn't bother to back anyways.
He said he had something important to say to me. Which had me curious and eager to what it is the whole day. I impatiently waited till the door opened and Zhan walks in with his usual charming yet pleasant smile that can light up the whole wide world of mine.

I heard him openeing the door and as expected he walked in but instead of his pretty smile he had a blank face. I felt a tug inside me but ignoring that I decided to be cheerful instead so hopefully I could bring a smile to his face. He threw a glance at me and said,
"Wanna go outside? I have something important to say." I looked at him confused.
"But isn't it raining?" I asked looking at the window which already had rain drops hitting on it mercilessly.
"Well we can take a umbrella." He said in monotone and got a umbrella and a one for myself. I took it while thinking why can't we just share a one? But nevertheless I obeyed him because I didn't want to add another burden to him. We walked silently until we were on the path which lead to the park in the shelter of each other's umbrellas.

I frowned when thinking about he has to say and why he was acting like this.
The path was isolated as always because it was already seven at the night. Today was one of days where he had to work a bit longer on his shift at the cafe.

Me being the impatient me, I stood in front of him—blocking his path. He looked at me confused.
"Where are we going Zhan ge?"
"Ooh! I know to that place where we went for stargazing again?" I asked even though I knew while raining what stargazing is there. He stayed silent for a moment looking at my cheerful and hopeful eyes before breaking the silence as a knife cutting something.

"Since you are impatient I'll tell you already." I felt myself stiffen at his voice which had coldness lingering in them. His gaze was even as a stranger making me scared inside for what reason I didn't knew.
"W-what is it Gege?" I asked suddenly stuttering from the nervousness I was feeling.
He threw me a sharp glance before saying the words that made me stop breathing and even managed to bring the thought of never breathing.

"We should breakup."

For a second I didn't got what he said. But when it hit me, I felt it ringing inside my head like a painful voice recorder which kept replying over and over again. Until it had me going crazy inside.

"W-what?" I said hoping this was some kind of a sick dream of mine. Because that moment I really wished it was.
"Hah..damn when did you get so good at pranking. It scared me to hell you know.'' I said as he let out a dry chuckle.
"It's not a one Yibo, I said I don't think we should keep continuing this anymore. I would like to have a break. Is it clear enough for you?" He said in a colder tone.
"W-why?" I stuttered.
"Well frankly speaking, I didn't like you in the first place. Then when I knew you had some amount of money that could clearly help me with I thought of giving it a try. And now I already know that you aren't planning to takeover your dad's company, which is a shame. So it's all over.''

That every word passed through his lips were too impossible for me to believe. I hoped for a sincerity hidden behind his eyes that would engulf me with every time I was with him, Only to be in vain seeing only blankness in them.

Wasn't it just day before yesterday that he kept playing around with me?
It didn't mean anything to him? I don't believe.

"You said you won't leave me. And a-nd you promised me." He snickered before turning back without replying.
"Oh and don't bother to follow me or anything because I won't change my words." He said and then proceed to walk back on our way here—leaving me to stand there with shaky hands gripping onto the umbrella hard.
