"It was you wasn't it? I refuse to believe any other answer."

Zhan POV
"Ge?"
I flinched at the words I heard. I turned around as I was crushed between the drunk people. I let out a sigh which I didn't knew out of relief or out of frustration. Was there a reason for me to be relief about anyways..
"What are you doing here? Let's have some fun!" One of the drunken female workers here or whoever they was started dragging me. But once I glanced back, I could swear I saw him turning his head a little before heading out faster.Next day I sure did regret drinking as a pounding headache tracked me just as I opened my eyes in the morning. What's worse is that I had work today and all I wanted was to sleep the whole day so I won't have to bare the headache and as well as won't have to face the day.
After some serious battle inside my head—I got off to do my usual morning routine and left the house for the cafe as usual. It sure was a pretty normal day of me working at the cafe, until a certain middle aged man walked in through the doors of the cafe. Just as he sat down on a seat—I realised it was none other than Yibo's dad himself. I didn't knew why I begged my co-worker to take the order for me just this time even when I was sure that the other didn't remember me. Besides he looked like he had a ton of incoming calls today to even bother about some stranger who brought home his drunk son months ago.I didn't even realise the coffee art I was making had ruined by my absence of attention towards it. I sighed as I had to make another one because I ruined the current one. What made my focus to be absence was the fact that I was desperately trying to understand why I felt the feeling that I have seen Yibo's dad much years earlier even before knowing Yibo. I recalled how I felt the same way when I first saw him with Yibo in my hands. Problem was that it didn't make any sense.
Until the moment his dad left the cafe after almost an hour of calling different people—I didn't manage to find out why I was feeling a so much familiarity. That is until it suddenly hit me. It was that one time my dad took me with him to a very normal household. It was all normal until it wasn't.
"Where are we going father?" I asked, completely amused by the fact he was taking me somewhere with him. Because normally he would go and I would stay, the simple rule. I wasn't even allowed to go anywhere other than school until now. So my amusement was acceptable.
"Just wait and see."
Even though my amusement was acceptable, he didn't seem to be in the mood to answer me. Well that's not unusual. For a second I almost though he was taking me to meet my cousins or someone like usual families did. But I knew we didn't had any because he never told me about anyone.
I almost wanted to ask from my dad why he was taking few men with guns because I was afraid the ones in the house will be scared of us. But I stayed silent. Once the people in the house saw us—I clearly noticed their scared expression.
The people in the house included a male and a female also a boy whose looked younger than me. Maybe seven years old? I've always wanted a brother! But that was all clear on my mind. I remember bugging my father for something but that's all I could get from my stupid brain. I groaned at my vague memory until I managed to connect the dots.
It was him..
The man was Yibo's dad.
Then....The boy is Yibo!
I gasped from the realisation and I had successfully managed to drop the plate I was holding—which was set to be served for a customer. Earning a glare from my co-worker, I muttered a quick apology in return.
It was near the closing time of the cafe as we busied ourselves with cleaning and closing the place for today. The tv was on while a modern drama kept playing on it. I didn't bother to pay any attention to it and I didn't even bother to look up at the sudden breaking news they started casting. I kept wiping the table I was wiping until I heard what was the news.
CEO of the Wang cooperation has been killed today evening by a vehicle which lost its breaks. The vehicle has been crashed onto the 24/7 open grocery shop where he had been at the time.
I was shocked to hear that the man who was alive and well few hours ago was now dead. Almost as if I had problems believing it. I found myself walking towards the place where the accident had happened to see a crowd around it—gossiping at each other. Tsk. I muttered and walked a bit closer to see how crushed the shop was. I didn't want to get closer to it between the crowd so I just stayed there behind all the people. Abruptly a sudden rain occurred making the crowd scatter away leaving me and another person alone in the scenery. The one seemed to be a male which had his face covers with a mask and a cap which almost covers all of his face.
I had my umbrella luckily so I stayed there for few minutes observing the stranger who didn't move an inch. He didn't even bother to take out an umbrella. By now he was soaking wet as I saw how his clothes were draping over his back, outlining his back muscles.
I had a question burning inside me which I had a hard time to find the confidence to ask from the other.
My legs automatically made their way towards the male and I held the umbrella over him so he wasn't soaking in rain anymore. He seemed to be surprised by the sudden umbrella held on top of him.I tapped his shoulder as he turned around a bit reluctantly. I gave my umbrella to his slightly shaking hands and started walking away without waiting for other's response. When I was about to take a turn from the corner of the road—I saw him still staring at the half-crushed shop which as shards of glasses scattered around the road all over.
That moment I felt my hope again re-lighting inside me.I practically ran towards my house though it was in vain as I was already soaking wet. But the moment I closed the door of my house after I entered—I remembered what happened that time when my dad took me to Yibo's house years before. I saw the whole picture after gluing all the bits of memories I had and the realisation was really not what I expected it to be.<<~>>
