Chapter 11

Sonic's POV

"I don't like sitting on the bench, but there's nothing to do till Tails gets back" Knuckles grumbles... and i know how he feels. I catch sight of Violet and Stitch returning, so at least they're back safe. Shadow had come with Nightly, and is idly leaning against a wall with her off to the side.

"Way to Jinx it, Knuckles!" Amy bites "Metal Sonic has been spotted in the city!"

"Is it another fake?" Shadow asks, making Nightly scoff

"Who, on that side is Real?" she points out, which i mumble in agreeance.

"But Why would they bother making a fake out of something that already isn't real? Couldn't they just build more?" I groan, before shaking my head, and chuckling "either way, it's getting wrecked! Let's go, Violet!" the wolf blinks in slight alarm, before she nods, smiles, and the two of us hurry out of the base, and i just barely hear Nightly call out to us

"Kick not-Metal's butt for me!" I'm Planning to anyway.

We arrived in the city. In ruins as Death Egg Robots walk around like they own the joint. Suddenly the radio beeps.

"Watch out. Metal Sonic was spotted near there." Amy warns. I glance around.

"Strange. I don't see him anywhere." Suddenly, a Death egg Robot emerges from beneath us, ruining the bridge we were on. We were lucky enough to land on a small ledge.

"HEY! UNCOOL!" Violet yells.

"Phew! That was a close one." I look up at the bot as it prepares another attack, but it was too slow! We jump and dodge its hit. "Good work Violet! Keep it up!" I look at her as she swings us round the robot, almost hitting its red hot engine. We then swung up to its head area. I smirk as we both look at eachother, lock eyes and get into a spin dash pose. "It's lights out for you!" And in seconds, we destroy the head, and land in the cave that leads to the bridge. "We can't let these things keep rampaging around the city."

"Yeah... they'll destroy everything, leaving thousands either dead or homeless." I look at Violet.

"Let's just find Metal and destroy him." We then run through the cave till red cubes start forming, and they come together to reveal a bigger version of Metal. Great. "So this is thanks to the Phantom Ruby too huh? Eggman's new invention is a real pain in the neck."

"You said it!" Violet states, looking at me. Strangely, her smile is giving me more energy to take down Metal with. We chase him down and give him a good beat down. Sure, he throws some bots at us, but he was powerless against us! "Here goes, Violet. When we join forces, the sky's the limit!" We the do a hard high five and perform our double boost and destroy the Fake Metal Sonic! I cross my arms, smiling, before glancing to Violet, who's panting slightly.

"Hey! That was Great!" I walked over to her, catching her attention. "We were like a well-oiled machine... fighting a... well... oiled... machine" i realise my mistake in my wording until i'm saying it. She laughs, before i raise my fist to her, smiling, and she looks confused. I give an approving nod, making her smile, let out a light chuckle, and bumps her fist to my own.

Nightly's POV

As Sonic and Violet return, i smile slightly to them, leaning my head on Shadow's shoulder, watching as Tails flies in, tackling his friend, nearly knocking him over

"I got it, Sonic! I figured out a way to stop Eggman's Phantom Ruby!" oh?

"Great work, Tails!" Tails gets off him, going to the devices in the middle of the room, plugging something in, and clicks a few buttons, showing readings that he had collected while out on his own mission.
