Chapter 13

Sonic's POV

We did it! The death egg is destroyed successfully! I look around the room, as the members of our little resistance celebrate. But looking around, i notice that we don't have everyone here... hmm... walking up to Nightly, I tap her shoulder.

"Hey, sis... um, is anyone missing here?" she glances over, before scanning the room

"Newbie" she replies within a moment or two, her previously relaxed expression now serious.
"So. Are we gonna go find her? Brother and sister looking for some... one, again?" i blink, realising that she's meaning that we could go out to find her. "And Soon? I have a feeling something's up, now that you pointed out her absence" i take a second, before nodding, prompting her to walk out of base. Wha- Hey! Quit walking away from me, sis! I hurry out after her, seeing a light smirk on her face. She gives a light chuckle, before running in the direction of where she brought Stitch to.

"This is where you brought her to be our distraction?" I look at Nightly, raising an eyebrow.

"Yep. approximately in this location, at least" she crosses her arms, looking around, before looking at me. "Well? Let's get looking" I nod.

"And when one of us finds her, radio!"

"can do" and she's off. I shake my head, smiling. I run off in another direction, soon finding a huge mecha, with blast marks coating it's metal. What the- what happened Here? I frown slightly, before continuing to run and look for her. It's near silent everywhere, other than a few Badniks here and there... who I very quickly destroy.

After... a while

"Found her... and she's fighting Infinite... why is this guy involved with Every issue here?" Nightly radios to me, a groan in her voice, causing me to have a flash of panic. Normal Mobians wouldn't stand a Chance against him! But... she's not entirely normal, I saw first hand how she attacked him in the jungle... Ugh

"Just send me the location! I'll be there asap!" She informs me of the location, and I duck and spin dash in the direction of where it is, jumping out to skid along a couple pipes, and break into a run, being there within a Moment. Nightly ducked behind a wall when I found her, and she tilts her head to the battle, and she wasn't lying. Stitch's in a heated battle with him, though I can see on her face that she's in pain, though is fighting through it. I run in, jumping at Infinite, who gets knocked out of focus, sees it's me, contemplates his actions, before flying away

"Coward!" Stitch yells after him, making me laugh. I then stop my laughter and walk over to her.

"What happened there? How did you end up fighting Infinite?" I ask, concern in my voice. She looks up at me and sighs.

"I was going to return to base, but as I was wrapping up my exploration, I heard Eggman grumbling and came to investigate. Also, he is a real jerk making Infinite fight instead of fighting himself." I start laughing again.

"Well, that's Egghead for ya," I joke. She gives me a light smile.

"We've known this for a Looong time" Nightly perks up, walking over from where she had been taking cover... or something. Stitch looks over and smiles before sighing.

"They were discussing a tactical retreat, with Infinite disapproving the order. And as it sounded they were wrapping up, one of the bots hanging around Eggface noticed me and that's when the fight began..." She scratches the back of her head, looking down at the ground.

"Well, i gotta praise the Fight i saw" Nightly says with a laugh "that was Way better than my encounter with not-Metal" Stitch smiles at the compliment.

"Yeah! Any other Mobian would have made an attempt to run away, but by the looks of things, you held your ground!" She smiles again, this time, it was bigger and brighter. "But did Infinite say anything to make you feel negative... scared?" She shakes her head.
