'Oh God, did I make a mistake? Maybe I shouldn't have signed up for the DWMA. I don't even have a Meister! Maybe I can get one at the Pairing Ball. But what if I don't? Oh, this is a disaster!' All of these thoughts flooded my head on the first day of school in the DWMA.
"Lena? Are you alright?" Kid asked, walking into my room. I turned to face him, my fringe falling over my eye.
"Oh! Oh, yes, I'm alright Kid. Don't worry about me big brother!" I assured him with a smile so fake, I was surprised he didn't notice.
"Well, alright. But hurry. We don't want you being late to the academy on your first day!" He reminded me before mumbling "Like I was when I first joined... Can't believe I was an hour late..." before leaving the room. I sighed.
I really didn't like the idea of a new school... Especially one with my symmetry addicted brother and people I never met.
(A few minutes later)
I got off my Beezlebub and looked at the school. Kid started ranting about how its perfectly symmetrical in every possible way. I rolled my eyes. The connection between him and symmetry I will never understand. From what I heard, even as a baby he was full of his stupid symmetry. I thought it would be better if I got used to it.
As I walked into the school, I saw a lot of pairs walking around to their next class or looking at the mission board. I looked down and decided to be alone and go to my first class.
After school, I would need to get ready for the Pairing Ball with Zoe and Kniomi. I grew up with them and we were all best friends. We had the occasional fights but it soon became rare as we learned to cope with each other. Now the only thing we fought about were the cute boys that all three of us would have a crush on. But then we would find out the guy's a player or a cheater and we would just forget about him. So no more fights after that. That's really it though.
I sighed and went into Steins classroom and took my usual seat at the back. I opened a book and started to read. Until I saw someone sit next to me. At first I thought it was Zoe or Kniomi, but neither of them have blonde hair. And both of them were girls. From what I gathered by reading his soul, this was a new guy.
"Hello. I'm new here." his deep silky voice said. I turned my head to look at him. He was blonde with deep blue eyes, almost green and a DOPE beanie on his head. "I was wondering if you could show me around or something?" he asked politely.
"I'm sorry, I'm new here too. Today is my first day. But maybe my brother can show us around?" I said. I didn't like the thought of being alone with a stranger that I didn't know. He smiled and nodded.
"Sounds good! Maybe after school? Or are you gonna be at the Pairing Ceremony tonight too?" he asked. I nodded and again he smiled. "Me too. I'm Alec by the way. I'm a Meister without a Weapon." I smiled.
"That's such a coincidence, I'm a Weapon without a Meister!" I declared. By now more people were beginning to enter the room. "I'm Lena by the way." I said, holding my hand out. He took my hand in his slightly larger one and shook it.
"Hey, maybe if we get lucky, we can be partnered together!" he said with a chuckle. I giggled.
But there was something strange... something about him made me feel like we were connected some how. Maybe we have a destiny together? Hopefully we would be partners so I can find out.
Only time will tell.
*After school*
I stood up from my desk and activated my Beezlebub until I heard someone call my name. I turned and saw Alec running towards me. I smiled.
"Hey Lena, I need to ask you something!" he said, his voice a bit shaky.
"Sure Alec. What's up?" I asked a bit curious.
"Um, I-I was wondering... would you like me to... save a dance for you at the Ceremony? Just in case we don't get paired up?" he said, his cheeks turning slightly red. I blushed a little. But I soon nodded.
"S-sure Alec!" I said nervously.
"Great!" he exclaimed and planted a quick kiss on my cheek. I blushed a deep red and watched him leave. Soon Kid came to my side.
"Ready to get home Lena?" he asked me, I nodded and flew home on my Beezlebub, Kid flying beside me.
When the mansion came into view, I could see the outlines of two girls outside and knew then it was Zoe and Kniomi cause Kid had Liz and Patty in their weapon forms in his hands. I smiled and landed beside Zoe and Kniomi. They had three bags with them, one labeled 'Zoe', another labeled 'Kniomi' and the last one labeled with my name. I smiled.
"You got everything for the Ceremony?" I asked.
"Yup! One red and black dress with a black Reaper mask on the torso with black shoes and a red rose accompanied by a red and black jewel necklace, black pearl bracelets and Reaper shaped earrings!" Zoe said. I smiled.
"And you got your own things right?" I asked. Kniomi nodded.
"Duh!" she laughed. I smiled and opened the mansion doors I led them inside and let Kid close the door. I brought the girls up to my room.
Finally we could start preparing for the Ceremony!
