Chapter 11: The truth behind the mask: A lovers betrayal?

I woke to the sound of loud music. What the heck was happening? I stood up and remembered that Maka and the others of their group went to the Academy Anniversary. It must be music from the Academy. I smiled and felt two hands on my shoulder, knowing it was Alec.

"Sleep well until the music woke you?" he asked. I just nodded.

"You wanna join them don't you? If you want we can go?" he said with his sweet voice. I turned and looked at him.

"I would love to go. Did Zoe and the others already go?" I asked him, wanting to know who was there.

"They went straight from Luigi Malone's. Apparently BlackStar only booked a room for us two since he didn't know whether we would be going or not." he said with a smile.

After a bit more chatting we got back in our formal clothes and flew on the Beezlebub to the party, landing on the balcony. I went back into my human form and deactivated the Beezlebub. 

The first thing I noticed was everyone dancing. Kid was doing some weird dance with Liz and Patty, BlackStar was showing off with Tsubacki watching, Soul was slow dancing with Maka, James was slow dancing with Zoe, Evan was dancing with Kniomi and I could see Professor Stein and Doctor Medusa in the back talking while dancing. I saw Gavin and Jack talking to Spirit and my father on the stage. I felt Alec put his hand on the small of my back.

"Wanna dance Lena?" he asked me as kindly as possible. I smiled and nodded letting him lead me to the dance floor.

It was not long into our dance that we heard Professor Sid calling out for everyone to evacuate. I looked at the door and saw him leaning against the frame, holding a wound in his side. I ran to him along with Stein and the others.

"Sid, what happened!?" Stein asked, concerned.

"We got to where you told us to go but we were ambushed. Bombs everywhere. I don't know how but I managed to bury under ground. I barely survived with Niggus!" Sid explained. I saw Steins eyes widen.

"Medusa!" he called out.

I turned and we all saw her escaping. But she wasn't alone. And what I saw made me wanna break down and cry... 

Alec was jumping with her, flying away with her on that giant snake of hers with a smirk plastered on his face. My eyes began to water. 

He betrayed me. And just when I thought I loved him, he does this to me. Stein must have seen my tears as his hand reached over onto my shoulder. I stiffened at his touch.

"I'm sorry..." he said, meaning in his voice.

Before I could think I ran to the balcony and looked around. Two witches, the wolf man and Alec. And I knew by there movements what they were going to do. They were gonna seal us in. I quickly ran back to Stein and the others.

"They're trying to seal us in!" I warned them. I saw Sid reaching for Niggus.

"We need to use soul resonance Niggus!" he called to her. I could see their two souls resonating. It was strong.

"This is gonna be close!" I heard Niggus yell and Sid slammed the knife into the ground. But I didn't expect what came next.

Stone coffins that looked bottomless appeared beneath myself and my friends along with Souls group and Professor Stein.

'Coffins!? What is happening!?' I thought to myself, screaming as I fell, terrified.

"No Sid!!!" I could hear Stein call. I heard Sid's voice above us faintly.

"We need you all to protect this Academy..." he said as the coffins sealed above us.

I hit the ground, landing on someone and heard them cry out and knew it was one of the boys. I lay still for a moment, still trying to recover from the heartbreak I just went through. 

I began to sob and felt the persons hand stroking my hair comfortingly. I lost control and broke down crying. I felt the person sit up and hold me in his arms. I looked up after a minute and saw it was Gavin trying to comfort me. I smiled and managed to stop crying.

"Did I hurt you?" I asked him, hoping I didn't.

"No, no, its fine. Don't worry about it!" he said with his warm smile from before the meal. I smiled back and stood up, helping him to his feet.

I saw more people falling and landing in a pile beside us. Its as if Sid wanted me to land on Gavin. I laughed when Stein landed on his feet and the others lay on the floor in pain.

"I'm going to go stop Medusa," he warned. "I know for a fact she's trying to revive the Kishin, Asura. If anyone wants to join me, feel free. But know it will be dangerous with a strong chance of death."

By this time, I was thankful that we all kept our battle clothes in the cave we had just landed in. By now I has changed into my army shorts, knee high converse, shirt with 'I'm a killer but I'm a hero' written on it, my denim jacket and black beanie with my hair pulled back in a French braid. Everyone else was wearing their own mission clothes.

"We're coming Professor Stein!" Maka exclaimed from behind me. I saw him smile and noticed all the weapons turned to their weapon forms, landing in their Meisters hands.

"Good." was all Stein said, before he took off running into the cave. I only hoped Alec was in here so I could give him a price of my mind. 

I activated my Beezlebub and flew after him, everyone else, except Kid on his Beezlebub, running beside me.
