Hayes POV
I'm back with Amber Elizabeth Rhodes. After four years. And it's freakin amazing.
Even though she lives in Dallas and I'm in Houston it's still amazing. She comes home basically every weekend and sometimes I'll drive to her.
I don't think I'll ever get over the fact that she loves me again.
Now that I'm back with Amber and Olivia and Will are getting married, I really need to get my life on track. I can't just keep living with Will. So a job I must get.
Since I went straight to the military after high school, it's pretty hard to find someone willing to hire you with no college degree. And a pretty nasty criminal record.
So I head to the auto repair place thinking that I'm pretty good with cars and may be able to make a decent pay with it.
I stand in line behind a man in a nice suit who seems pretty distraught that the place can't ship in a new tire until Friday, since it's Wednesday today.
"And I need to pick up my kids in 20 minutes with that donut tire. What if it breaks while I'm driving?" He sighs and moves out of line to pick up his ringing phone while the man at the counter continues to slouch lazily and rolls his eyes.
His eyes train on me standing there in a button down and jeans and raises his eyebrows. "What do you want?"
"I was wondering if you guys needed another hand around here. I'm good with cars, pretty strong -" I start before the man rudely interrupts.
"We're not looking for more help." Is all he says. "Next!" He calls even though there's no one in line behind me.
"Sir, I swear that I will be nothing but a faithful and helpful-"
"We're not looking for help." He repeats and I roll my eyes in annoyance before spinning on my heel and heading towards the door.
"You were looking for a job?" The guy in the suit stops me on my way.
"Uh yeah?" I ask, wondering why he even cares.
"Well I don't mean to go out on a limb here but do you have any experience with kids?" He asks looking quite exhausted and desperate.
"Yeah I guess since I have a little sister." I respond shrugging.
"Would watching and driving my kids around be too much? It's just that I'm so busy and really need someone." He says and I raise my eyebrows.
"Like a nanny?" I ask almost laughing at the prospect.
"How about a manny?" He suggests.
"You just trust me to watch your kids?" I wonder, bewildered that this dude is serious.
"Well from the looks of it you seem like a nice and mature gentleman and if you do turn out to be a serial killer I have a gun in my trunk."
"Good to know."
"If you are interested...?"
"Hayes."
"If you are interested Hayes, here's my number." Then he names a salary that's about four times the one I thought would be the highest I was offered. I think I'll be interested.
Guess I'll be a manny.

"Hayes! Come in, come in, so glad you responded." Ben exclaims when he opens the door and ushers me inside. "I'll have to get to work soon, you know these doctors' schedules are crazy, but let me give you a run down of everything." After telling me everything to do, Ben then proceeds to yell upstairs till three kids appear in front of me.
