~ CHAPTER 9 ~

I heard Camilo's voice call out. Shit. Shit. Shit.

He can't find out that I was here, I quickly started sprinting out of the little area in the woods and starting running into the center of the village.

I didn't stop running until I checked behind me and no one was there.

I was checking around and saw Isabela dancing in the center, making flowers grow everywhere.

I walked over to her and waved, "Hola, Isabela." I said casually, as she turned around and waved back at me.

"Hola, Y/n. Would you like a flower crown?" She asked as she made one and placed it on my head as I nodded.

I looked at the flowers, yellow and orange. "Why these colors?" I asked.

"I don't know, you just give off a yellow-y and orange-y type of aura." She said as she started walking towards a man, who I believed was her boyfriend.

I was now just standing there until I almost got pushed over by the ground moving, "Sorry sis!" I heard my older brother yell as he moved the ground to what it was originally.

"Mateo! You nearly gave me a heart attack! I thought there was an earthquake." I said as I held my chest.

"Oh sorry, but I came here to tell you something." He said as I looked up at him, waiting for his answer.

"Apparently, Isabela's boyfriend is proposing tonight or something like that so mamá told us we have to dress nice and we can't 'act out'." He said the ending in air quotes.

"Ok, is that all?" I said, as he nodded and walked off. I followed where he was walking, with my eyes and saw him walking towards a girl and kissing her on the cheek.

'I wonder what he's doing.' I thought as I was about to start following but was almost thrown to the ground again by someone running into me.

"Oh, I'm so sorry!" I looked up at the person who was apologizing and when I looked up to see a boy staring back at me. He looked to be about the same age as me.

"Oh, it's ok." I said as he helped me and I stood up and brushed off my skirt.

"I'm sorry for running into you, I'm Aiden." He said as he held out his hand for me to shake.

"Y/n." I said as I shook his hand.

We were both just staring at each other in an uncomfortable silence, I took the time to take in his features.

He was decently tall, wavy brown hair, dark blue eyes and green colored braces.

I decided to stop the awkward silence, "So, where were you going in such a hurry?" I said as he quickly looked back over to me and rubbed the back of his neck.

"Um... I was... just... trying to find my donkey." He blurted out and seemed confused and what he just said, as if he made it up.

"Are you lying?" I said as I inched my face closer to his. He nervously gulped and I stepped back and laughed.

"It's alright, I don't really care, I was just going somewhere anyway." I said as I was on my way to the Madrigal's Casita.

"W-wait!" He grabbed my wrist and made me turn around, he let go and rubbed his neck again. "Would you maybe want to hang out with me at some point? N-not now! But sometime later, maybe?" He said nervously as he was scared for what I was going to say.

"Um, sure." I said as I smiled at him and started walking away again, until he yelled something.

"Meet me at the jewelry shop tomorrow at 1!" He said and I turned around and gave him a salute and turned back around to see where I was going.

As I stepped inside the house, I was pulled by the wrist. When I looked up this time I saw Dolores looking at me with wide eyes.

"Do you have a date tomorrow?" She said as she held onto my shoulders.

"Um, how did yo-... oh wait, no I don't have a date, i'm just hanging out with a... friend." I said as I tried getting out of her grip, but her hands only tightened around my shoulders.

"Y/n, I heard you're entire conversation and I could hear his heart thumping out of his chest when he was talking to you. He totally likes you." She said as she let me go and crossed her arms with a triumphant look on her face.

"No he doesn't. I just met him." I said as I also crossed my arms.

All she did was smirk and walk away, leaving me just standing there.

"Y/n?" I heard someone yell my name and walked over to where I heard the voice, Mirabel's room.

I started up the stairs and walked into the room as I saw her playing with green glowing things?

She looked over her shoulder at me, with a slightly scared expression but it got taken over with a look of relief.

"Oh thank god it's just you Y/n, I thought you were someone else." She said as she went back to the things on her dresser.

"What are those?" I asked as I saw her step back and look at what she had just done and not answer me.

I walked over to her when she didn't give me an answer, "Hello? Earth to Mirabel?" I said as I waved my hand in front of her eyes, snapping her out of her trance.

"Oh sorry Y/n, I went into my Tío Bruno's room and found this vision, which has me in it." She finished and I looked down and saw Mirabel standing in front of Casita, but instead of a normal house, it had cracks everywhere.

I stared shocked and both of us weren't saying anything until we both heard someone walk into the room, "Are you ready to get your party pants on? Because-" Agustín had his jaw low and his eyes wide.

We both just looked at him and tried covering the vision. Mirabel started quickly explaining what happened but he wasn't paying attention and moved the both of us to the side.

The man started to panic slightly and started talking fast and putting pieces of the vision into his pockets.

"No one has to know." He said, but the door creaked open when he looked at the both of us. We heard a squeak on the other side of the balcony. 

"I know." Dolores said as she squeaked again and started rushing down the stairs.

"Miércoles."
