~ CHAPTER 28 ~

Y/N's POV:

I walked out of Camilo's room with clenched fists.

Why would me and my mother be fighting in Bruno's vision? Why can't I just be happy for once?

While I was making my way out of Casita I ran into someone. "Lo siento." We both said at the same time.

I looked up and saw Dolores standing in front of me. "Y/n? Is everything ok?"

Tears started building up in my eyes. "Yeah, everything's fine." I said, still trying not to cry.

"Y/n, I heard everything." She said and that made me crack. I engulfed her in a hug and tears started cascading down my face.

"Why would it happen? I don't want to hurt my mother, even if she hasn't been the best one." I felt Dolores run my back.

"Hey, it's gonna be ok. If anyone tries to hurt you, my family will protect you." She said, it made me feel a little better but I don't want to be the cause of one of the Madrigals to be hurt.

"No. I'm not gonna let any one of you get hurt because of me. If my mom wants to fight me then I'll let her. This is my battle, not your family's." I said to her, she backed out of the hug with wide eyes.

"Y/n, even though your mother doesn't have a gift, she still could be very dangerous. I mean you heard your tía. She associates with the people who are trying to capture you." I let out a sigh.

"Dolores if anyone asks where I am, just say I left the Encanto." I said and walked past her, she walked up and stood in front of me.

"Y/n, please don't do anything you regret." She said and gave me a hug, I returned it and walked out of the casita.

Now, to find my mother.

I walked through the entire town and right to the edge. I was on the opposite side of the mountains.

You're probably wondering, Y/n you didn't even pack anything or what are you doing?! You can't just go and find your mother.

See, now that's where your wrong. I have a tío, you probably didn't know about him. My father doesn't like talking about him, neither does my tía.

His siblings abandoned him, kind of like how my family did to me. His power is time travel, he hasn't used it since before I was a baby.

He did something drastic that no one in my family could stop. You'll find out what he did later on.

I'm the only one who knows where he is, wait, I forgot to tell you how I know. Since my family abandoned me, about two months ago. And my tía left around 2 weeks ago. He tried reaching out to me.

Remember that man who attacked me? No, that wasn't him. It was someone who was trying to capture me but I found out later that man had died, but I hadn't killed him.

It was my tío.

I didn't know this but my tío has actually been living in Encanto, since they grew up there. My tío doesn't have a family, he cut himself off completely.

When that man had attacked me, once he had left. My tío had been watching the whole thing happen and later killed the man.

By the way, before anyone asks, no my tío is not a bad person. He just cares about his family and even if the rest of his family hate him, he still loves them. Kind of like Bruno.

My tío doesn't live where everyone else lives in Encanto, he lives past the forest, in a small cottage and that's where I'm headed.

Now, how did I figure this was where he lived? Dolores. She told me there was a man who had a gift and would always talk about the people in my family.

How did I know this man was my tío? Also, Dolores. Apparently, he was talking about his brother, my father, and Dolores had told me.

Now, back to where we were.

I'm almost to the small cottage, only a few more minutes or so.

I've been walking for the past hour, I hope Dolores didn't tell anyone of what I was doing, especially Camilo.

But knowing Dolores, she probably would tell Camilo. She tells him everything.

I didn't realize it but I was now in a clearing and there was a small cottage in front of me. It looked a little run down but still cozy.

I walked up to the door and knocked. "Hello?" I heard a voice say from inside.

"Umm, tío Hector? It's me, Y/n." I heard shuffling from inside and fast footsteps.

The door opened and I was met with a man, fairly tan skin, scraggly beard and knotty hair. "Y/n?" His eyes widened when they saw me, he quickly pulled my arm and brought me inside.

There were many collectables everywhere. I looked around and saw a glowing blue orb, I walked over and brought my hand up to it.

"Don't touch that!" He said and stood in front of me. "Sorry! Sorry, it's just.. t-that orb is very dangerous." He said and trapped it inside a box.

"What do you mean?" He seemed to not know what to say to my question.

"I-I'll tell you later" He said and picked the box up and placed it on top of a tall cabinet. "Now, what are you doing here, Y/n?"

I glanced at him and saw he was sitting down on his couch, staring at me with wide eyes. "Well, I thought maybe you could bring me to the event of where I would be fighting my mother."

He stood up quickly from his seat and grabbed my shoulders. "How do you know about that?"

"Bruno showed me." He took a deep breath and let go of my shoulders.

"He's lucky he can't control the future. You weren't supposed to know about that. I stayed here so that wouldn't happen." I was shocked at his words.

"You mean, you knew about this?" He looked back at me and sighed.

"Yes, but I was trying to find a way to stop it without having to travel to that event."

I furrowed my eyebrows at what he had said. "Why can't you just go to the event and stop it from happening?" He slumped back on the couch.

"If only it were that easy."

I brightened up, "I can help, I mean, I can literally alter realities and.."

"Woah, calm down. I wish that I could change what will happen but I can't and I can't bring you to the future. The last time I brought someone to a different time.. I- I couldn't bring them back." I saw tears start to build up in his eyes.

"But maybe that won't happen! Just try again."

"Y/n, I'm not sacrificing your life just so an event won't happen." I grew frustrated at his words.

"I can take care of myself, all you need to do is bring me to the future and let me stop it from happening and then we can go back."

"No! I can't lose you like I lost your sister!"
