~ CHAPTER 12 ~

Y/N's POV

I pulled away, shocked at what had just happened.

I looked up at Camilo's eyes and saw him staring down at me.

"I guess you don't hate me that much." He said with a light chuckle. I started laughing as he still had his hand on my cheek.

"Awwwww" Both of us turned around and saw Dolores standing there with her hands together and behind her was Thomas with a slight scowl on his face.

We quickly pulled away from each other as we saw that we had attracted a crowd.

Camilo looked over to me, he had a light blush cover over his cheeks. 

"Just because I can't hear as well anymore, doesn't mean I can't see." Dolores said with a wink as she walked away.

I started trying to stand up, I put my left hand onto a rock and instantly I felt pain traveling through my body.

Camilo seemed to have sensed this and rushed back over to me. "Are you ok?" He said as he held one of my arms.

"I'm fine, don't worry." I said as I tried letting go of his arm but I needed help balancing.

"You obviously aren't fine if you have to hold onto me just to be able to stand." He said as he smirked down towards me.

I scoffed lightly and turned my head away from his. 

"Camilo! Y/n! Have you seen Mirabel?!" Dolores rushed over to the both of us.

Both of us shook our heads and the older girl started to panic and run around and ask other family members.

We saw Julieta and Agustín getting farther and farther up a hill, probably looking for Mirabel.

Camilo looked at me, worry was etched all over his face. I gave him a soft smile.

"Camilo, you should go look for her, I'll be fine." I said as I slowly started sitting back down.

"I can't just leave you! What if you get hurt again?!" He said as he was helping me sit down.

"Camilo, go look for your cousin." I said, as I looked at him straight in the eyes.

He nodded quickly and got up to go and try and find his cousin. I saw him join his mother and younger brother. 

I saw my family, far away. I saw them with bags in their hands. Where were they going?

My little brother looked back and saw that I was looking at him. He gave me a little wave and a small smile but quickly turned around.

Why were they walking somewhere without me? Where are they headed? Are they gonna come back? 

I had a lot of questions, just swarming all around my head. Why would they just leave? One of my brother's would have said something, right?

I was just sitting on a pile of rubble and I saw a bright light appear in front of me. It was in the shape of my brother, Miguel.

Since he could use his power to manipulate the light and darkness, he could form anything with either of them.

"Y/n, I'm sorry I didn't tell you earlier. Mamá said you were too dangerous for us to be around you. She thought that you had caused Casita to break. I don't believe it's true, but I'm the only one standing up for you right now. I don't know where we're going but I'll tell you as soon as we stop somewhere." He said as I could see light tears forming in his eyes, even if he was just a blob of lightness.

"But why didn't she say anything?" I said, as I started talking back to him.

He sighed and looked down, "I have no idea. All she said was, 'Don't tell Y/n!'" He said as he changed his voice to imitate our mamá.

I was about to ask him more questions but he started looking around in fear.

"I have to go Y/n, mamá is looking at me weird, it's probably because my eyes are glowing. I'll miss you Y/n. Take care of yourself." And just like that, he was gone.

That was a lot to process in 5 minutes. I had even more questions now. 

I started getting annoyed, thinking about how my family just left me. It was also weird because after I kissed Camilo, Thomas was standing right there.

Did they pack before? Did they know this was going to happen?

I felt a bit betrayed, mainly at Miguel but at least he tried contacting me. It made me think that my family didn't care about me.

I knew that my power was dangerous if used wrong, that's why I hardly used it, except for when I had to.

I saw that the sun was starting to set, that's when I realized, where am I going to sleep? I didn't see that any of the Madrigal's have returned yet. Even Alma wasn't there.

I tried standing up, but again the pain was too much. I glanced towards the village and saw four figures walking towards me. 

My feet were suddenly pulled out from under me and I felt like I was getting pulled to the people.

I saw someone who had their hand out, it looked like a young boy. I squinted my eyes and realized, it was my cousin!

"Leo!" I said as he let me back on the ground softly and he ran to me and held me in a tight hug.

"Hi Y/n! Mamá told us that we get to come visit you and here we are!" The 8 year old boy responded with a smile on his face as he looked up at me.

"I'm so happy you guys are here!" I said as I saw my aunt and uncle behind the boy and my other cousin was next to them, with his arms crossed.

"Get over here, Julian." I said as Leo pulled away from me, so that Julian could replace his spot.

Julian just rolled his eyes and walked over and he gave me a side hug.

"Oh, just because you're a teenager now, you don't want to hug me?" I said as I pulled him into a tight hug and I started laughing as I felt him struggle against me.

"Stop it, Y/n, you know I don't like hugs." He said as he finally was successful in getting out of my arms.

"Oh, you loved hugs when you were little." I saw Tía Natalia behind her son and she gave me a smirk.

Julian just groaned and walked to his younger brothers side, because he didn't want to deal with his mother teasing him.

"Hola, Y/n! I'm sorry we came on such short notice, but I'm guessing you knew that you're family had already left." I gave her a nod and she gave me a sad smile and pulled me into a hug.

"Te quiero mucho, mi sobrina. Te prometo que te cuidaremos." She said as she grabbed my cheeks and gave each a kiss. I saw her husband join her side and he smiled at me and I smiled back.

At least I had someone. When thinking that I realized I had left someone, shoot.
