Once I was done hanging out with Camilo for the night, I went back to my tía, since I was probably staying with her family.

I saw her talking to Señora Julieta, I saw Julieta quickly look over at me and walk away. Weird.

"Hola, tía." I said as I reached where she was standing in Casita.

"Hola, Y/n, are you ready to go?" I nodded and she led me outside, I followed behind her because I obviously didn't know where I was going.

"Tía, am I staying with you?" She turned back to look at me, with her eyebrow raised.

"Why wouldn't you stay with me?" I didn't know how to answer her, so I just shrugged.

She didn't say anything, she just turned back around and kept on walking. We were walking for a solid 7 minutes before we stopped in front of a house.

It was average sized, not too big, because my tía didn't have as many kids as her brother.

I looked back up towards the hill and saw that people were also starting to leave Casita, but when I looked to my left, I saw a half-way built house. It was probably the one that Luisa was building for us, before the whole disaster happened.

"Aren't you coming inside?" I jerked my head to where my tía was and nodded and sprinted into the house.

I saw my tío in the living room, reading a book, it was late so he probably already put the other kids to bed.

My tía sat next to her husband and leaned over to pull out yarn and some needles, she started knitting.

I was just awkwardly standing there, waiting for either of them to say something.

"Why are you just standing there?" My tía asked as she didn't look up from what she was doing.

"Um, I don't know where my room is." I said as I looked down at the floor.

"It's downstairs, we thought you should have some privacy." She said, she continued "Some clothes for you are already down there, if there's anything else, feel free to ask one of us."

She still hadn't looked up from knitting, I decided to walk downstairs. My bedroom was, let's just say, HUGE.

When you walked straight downstairs, there was a king size bed, not a lot of decorations but I can fix that later.

I walked around more and saw a bathroom and a closet almost the same size. I was just about to run back up the stairs to thank my tía and tío for giving me this room, but I heard some voices upstairs, it sounded like they were talking to someone, so I didn't want to annoy them.

I walked inside the closet a picked out some pajamas. A baggy shirt and regular pajama pants. I was sitting on my bed, realizing that there was nothing to do in my room.

I was thinking about falling asleep, but I looked at the clock in my room, which read 9:30 pm. Still pretty early.

Apparently I was still hungry, so I decided to walk upstairs, but I heard voices again and they were getting louder and they sounded almost familiar.

"Please, you have to promise us you won't turn her in." I heard a woman's voice seem to beg.

"She is your problem and you put her on us to deal with, we will not tell anyone but if someone comes, we won't protect her." I heard my tía say, are they talking about me?

The next voice I heard was a male, who sounded like he was in his 20s. "How dare you! She's family, you must be terrible people if you won't protect your family!" I heard a large slap and a grunt.

"Excuse me?!? Just because she is my sobrina, doesn't mean she is my problem." I heard my tía's voice get louder.

"Querido, maybe we should leave this for the night." It was my tío, it seemed as though he was trying to calm her down. I don't think it was working though because the house seemed to slowly start coming apart.

But it was quickly, but back together, like nothing had happened.

"Get out! Get out right now, it was you who decided to abandon her, so you have to deal with the consequences." I heard my tía say, as her voice started to seem a little more calm.

"I would never abandon her, I was doing it for her protection. You know all about our old town, Natalia, and how they would treat us, because we were different." This was now a different man, he sounded middle-aged and very calm.

"Yes, I know Gabriel, I was there." I heard my tía say in a sarcastic manner.

Wait, Gabriel? That was my father's name, is my father up there?

I walked back over and heard more murmuring upstairs but didn't care to listen to closely to it.

Just as I was about to put my hand on the door knob, I heard footsteps coming towards me.

I ran down the stairs and jumped into my bed, pretending to be asleep.

The door opened and I heard at least 5 people walk in.

"See? She's fine, she's sleeping soundly." I heard my tía say.

"Promise me, you'll write me each week, telling me about her and what she's doing?" I heard my father say, his voice starting to break.

"Ok." Was all my tía said, before everyone walked upstairs, once the door closed I got out of bed and tried to listen in to their conversation again.

"Where will you be?" My tío said.

"We'll be staying in Pijao, we heard that it is one of the safest towns, along with Encanto." My father said as I heard steps, starting to walk towards the door, which led outside.

I heard people walk out of the door, and my tía and tío started walking upstairs, probably to their bedroom.

I was walking back over to my bed, when I noticed a note by the floor, I picked it up.

It read:

"Y/n, if you're reading this (which I hope you are). We are staying in Pijao, father doesn't want you to know this but I had to tell you. Y/n you are not safe with tía and tío, I think they may be working with the people who were coming for our powers, back in our old town. Just please be safe, and I'll try and see you as soon as possible. Please don't forget me.

~Miguel"

Tears started falling down my face as I clutched the note to my chest. "I will never forget you." Were the words I said before I climbed into bed and cried myself to sleep.
