"Poison"

It was our second to last day in California we were eating breakfast at a local diner. We were getting glares from the people around us. What?

We can't help it if you people are boring.

I zoned out for a moment before something cold and wet splashed over me. I looked in front of me to see Kieran with an empty glass of water in his hand smirking at me like it was entertaining.

Gasps erupted around the table and others as well. "What the fuck was that?" I spat at him my anger heating up my skin. "You forget who you are sometimes." He muttered with a chuckle. My eyes glare into his.

"Kieran you forget where you stand next to me. You're nothing but my fucking shadow. So act like it." I slammed my hands down on the counter storming off into the bathroom.

I went to grab for a paper towel only for it to be empty. "You're fucking kidding me." I groaned out. One minute I'm leaning on the sink and then another I'm shoved against a wall. Their broad chest pressed against mine. Our breaths in sync and heavy. My eyes narrowed when I realized it was Kieran.

"Don't speak to me like that." He threatens. I process what he said taking a couple of seconds to contain my voice. "Or what?" I push against him so he's off me. My hands shoving into his chest taking me with him as I press him against the bathroom stall.

He crains his neck looking down at me. He had the height advantage but I had everything else. "Do tell....or what?" I repeat myself. "I thought you were smart princess." He mumbled under his breath before moving away from me and out the door.

I roll my eyes following him out of the bathroom throwing money onto the table and walking out of the diner to the sidewalk. "Damn she's got a temper." I heard Kieran tell the group.

Moments later my friends and Kieran joined me outside. We decided to go shopping all of us splitting up into groups. Athalia, Lilah, and Bella with me while the boys went out on their own. We hit a couple of shops buying hats and jewelry.

We entered a beach designed shop with clothes and necklaces. While the girls immediately looked at the bathing suits something else caught my eye.

It was a necklace with a black heart shaped diamond on it. My fingertips trailed across the heart as I admired it beauty. "Mesmerizing isn't it?" Someone beside me spoke. It was the salesman he was needy slightly taller than me with glasses.

"How much is it?" I questioned. "23,000$" he told me. "From the looks of the shop it doesn't look like it would be that much." I commented. "Yes well it's very rare." He informed me.

"Hey girls wanna go to the beach?" Scorpius questioned as he popped hi head in through the door. "Uhm yeah sure." I responded sighing and turning away from the necklace. It was too much even though I really wanted it. "You guys go, I'll catch up to you." Kieran called to us as we left the store and the black diamond behind.

And hour later the girls and I were sitting on towels on the sand laughing our asses off as Scorpius face planted into the water after a second wave knocked him off his board.

Lilah smiled at him as he came back up. We all knew she liked him but she wouldn't dare go for it because of Bella being his sister.

"So the raves tomorrow night..." Lia reminded us. "What are you guys planning to wear?" She questioned. "I was thinking like maybe this satin light pink dress." Bella informed all of us with a sweet smile. "I haven't even seen it and I already love it." Lilah boosted. "What about you Lilah?" Bella's wondered out loud.

"I already know what I'm wearing, it's this Lacey sheer black dress." I had already seen Lilahs dress and it fit her perfectly. "Lia how about you?" I asked her.

"Oh I'm going basic with a super short black skimpy dress so I can seduce all the hot college girls." She grinned winking at us. We all burst into laughter playfully shoving her.

"Em your up." Lilah told me. "Oh uhm nothing special it's just a dress." I wasn't good as girly dress talk. "Hey where did Kieran run off to?" Bella asked. "Not sure but we should head back." Lia replied. "Alright I'll get Scor." Lilah pushed off the ground jogging over to the water towards Scorpius.

We packed our things making it to the hotel room right before sunset. Kieran was in our room when I entered. I ignored his presence walking into the closet to change into something comfortable. But as I left the closet Kieran was moved from the bed to in front of me.

"What?" I said coldly with a quizzical brow. He held his hand out to me revealing the Black Diamond Heart necklace I was looking at in the store. I was beyond speechless.

"Thank you." I finally got out. For once he actually had a real smile on. Not a grin or a smirk but a genuine smile. "I'm sorry about this morning." He apologized. "It's alright." I reassured him. He moved my hair out of the way turning my around and clipping the necklace on.

"Em we can never be friends." He told me out of nowhere. I took a moment. "Why do you always have to ruin good moments like these?" I huffed slightly upset.

"Because someone has to." He walked off into the kitchen leaving me in our bedroom with the necklace around my neck and a pained expression. Why can't he just let me in like he does the others?

Everyone else gets to be friends with Kieran Riddle, except for me.

Always fighting, always hating eachother, always pushing the other away before we get too close like we're poison.

What if I don't want to be his poison anymore?
