"Beeping Monitors."

Kieran's POV -

"Dude just answer your fucking phone!" Scorpius yelled. I groaned out searching my bed for the ringing phone. It was dark in the room so the only thing I could do it search for it in the dark. I finally got a grip on it lazily answering the phone.

"Hello?" I rubbed my eyes. "Kieran something's happened, I need you to get the group together and put me on speakerphone." He told me. I checked the time. "Dad it's 4 am we have classes tomorrow." I tried reasoning.

"Just do it." He ordered. "Scorpius get up." I demanded turning on the lights. "God damn it! Let me sleep." He huffed out. "Call the girls." I told him. "What? Why?" Scor questioned. "Just do it." I rolled my eyes sitting back on my bed and putting my father on speakerphone.

I put on some black sweatpants but I didn't bother putting on a shirt. Finally after 10 minutes of awkward silence the girls arrived. Bella and Lia sitting on my bed beside me while Lilah sat next to Scorpius on his.

"Is everyone there?" My father questioned. "Yes." I replied blankly. "Alright, shit this is hard. Embers In the ER." It went silent.

Nobody spoke.

I felt my stomach turn and my hands shake on my lap. "Is she okay?" Lia broke the deafening silence in the room. "I don't know." That was helpful. "What happened?" I barely got out.

"She tried committing Kieran." If it was quiet before I have no idea what this was. We all froze. I squeezed my eyes shut running my hands through my hair.

"You're fucking with me? Please say you're just screwing with us!" I yelled. "I wish I were." My heart dropped. "I'm coming home." I decided.

"No!" He told me. "I will keep you all updated but you will not come home." He demanded. "I have to go the doctors here." The phone line ended. For the first time in a while I saw tears fill Lias eyes.

"She's gonna be okay. She'll be fine." She croaked out. She wasn't even speaking to us she was telling herself that. She was hyperventilating. Athalia stood up pacing around the room holding her chest.

"She's okay!" She said louder. "She's fine!" She kept repeating. Her breathing picked up. I got up, finally able to move my frozen limbs. I wrapped my arms around Athalia.

"Hey, hey Athalia look at me! Calm down." I managed to get out taking her face in my hands and breathing with her. The rest of the Dynasty's still on the bed.

Bella was watching me as I comforted my sister. Lilah was crying into Scors shoulder as he covered his mouth with his hand on the verge of tears. We ended up on the floor.

Lia sitting down as I was on my knees holding her. Her breathing slowed after 8 minutes of panic spreading through her veins. "I should have been there." She cried out wiping the tears from her red eyes. "Don't blame this on yourself. You know they wouldn't have let you stay." I reminded her.

"Can we stay here tonight?" Lilah questioned her words barely audible. Scorpius looked at me shaking his head yes. We all silently agreed to stay together for the last few hours of early morning before the day started.

"We'll visit this weekend." Scorpius told everyone. Athalia crawled up on our sofa placed to the wall next to the door. Lilah curled up in Scorpius's arms and Bella in mine.

She seemed comfortable enough to fall straight to sleep. But I was up all night. How could I comfortably lye in a bed with Bella while Ember was most likely dead in a hospital bed alone right now?

I closed my eyes tightly. Over summer I had learned a new trick. I could see and be with people like a hologram in their minds while not being with them. After 6 tries I finally managed to escape my reality into Embers.

She was in a hospital bed with bandages over both her wrists. I cringed at the sight of her. The monitor was beeping which meant she was still alive.

I sat on the edge of the bed brushing the frizzy curls out of her face. "Can I lay by your side?" I murmured. No reply. I just sat beside her, it comforted me to know she was alive.

The heart rate monitor sped up beeping loudly in repeated alarms. Her heart was faltering. I began to wither away from the reality screaming her name.

Then I was back in my dorm room. Bella was still placed in my arms, snuggled into my chest. I looked down at my phone which was still placed on the wood side table beside my bed. It had just turned 7. How long was I with Ember?

"Guys, it's 7 wake up." I announced removing myself from Bella's touch and standing to my feet. I turned on my shower washing away the hours I spent in panic.

I got out walking into my dorm with a towel resting under my V-line. Athalia had left to shower at her dorm while Bella and Lilah waited to use ours.

Scorpius was last to shower which meant he had to deal with the cold water. He angrily stepped out of the bathroom glaring at us. If we were in the mood we would have laughed. But none of us were.

I changed into my white button up and black trousers. Tying my Slytherin tie to my collar. Scorpius had done the same both of us grabbing our robes before leading the girls out of our bedroom.

"Looks like you two had a good night." Someone joked. It was Gregory Flint. Marcus Flints son. "Cut it out." Scorpius threatened.

"So did Scorpius go into a separate room while you banged his sister or was he into it?" I glared my eyes into his. My fists clenching.

"I wonder how Ember will feel about this?" I had been infuriated when her name came out of his disgusting buck toothed mouth.

I saw Red.

Everything turned completely red.

And I could've sworn I was breathing out black smoke.

My fist went flying to his cheek, dropping him to the ground. The girls gasped. Gregory's friends stepping back. I took his my his throat pushing him to the wall.

"You ever fucking say anything about my friends again I'll fucking kill you." I spat shoving him to the ground again his friends catching him as we walked away.

Headmaster McGonagall was at the bottom of the steps shaking her head. "Mister Riddle, a word please." She spoke to me.

I stood beside her. "I won't punish you this time but keep your temper in check." She ordered. "Yes mam, but may I ask why you aren't punishing me?" I wondered. It took her a moment before answering.

She pointed to the framed painting of my mother hung up on the wall.

"You remind me of your mother." And with that she walked away.
