The rich American man

A helicopter landed close to the agency one day. I was very interested in the man who stepped out of there, maybe this would be something worth reporting back to Koyo. "Evelyn-san, I want to know everything that happens in that room", I told her. People that stepped out of the helicopter were speaking with Fukuzawa and I wanted to know what was going on. "You need to be able to repeat every single word". Evelyn nodded before she left the building. I walked up the stairs to see some of the agency members. None of them knew what the other people wanted.

...

We went to walk outside. After the guild members left I went out with Evelyn. She explained everything about the discussion. And that something was wrong. Something was definitely wrong with the guild members. "That permission must be worth a lot... I wonder how many other places have it in Yokohama or Japan in general". mostly I wondered whether the port mafia had one. I didn't dare to guess either way.

"Fitzgerald-san offered most likely multiple billion yen for it".

"Elise-chan! Oh Elise-chan come back!"

I looked at Evelyn. That sounded like Mori. That sounded way too much like Mori. "... Boss?" I questioned looking at the man. He was dressed like a doctor today instead of his usual slightly darker sense of style.

"Oh Y/n", he seemed very happy considering the situation, "I've lost Elise-chan, Evelyn can surely help me find her, can't she?" I knew it. I wasn't that useful even now.

"Yes, yes", he was my boss. What else could I do besides obeying? "Evelyn-san, please locate Elise-chan and bring her back. Those are orders".

"You're such a life saver, Evelyn-chan", Mori told. Evelyn left us alone.

Of course, I couldn't get the credit. Evelyn did all the work. She was the only reason I was taken seriously most of the time. It was fine. This all was fine. She hasn't been fighting that much lately, besides yesterday, meaning that I wasn't nauseous, I wasn't tired nor dizzy. I wasn't any of those because I slept through the night. I had energy that Evelyn used instead of gaining her own from food or sleep. Of course, I couldn't get the credit even though I was the one who provided everything for her to help everyone. It was frustrating.

"What exactly happened, Mori-sama?"

"She didn't-"' Mori fell to the ground. I looked behind to see who had pushed him; Tanizaki.  If it would've been anyone else, I would've thrown a knife to his back.

"Excuse me, are you okay?" Atsushi kneeled down.

What a mess. I never thought I'd be caught with the boss of the port mafia. Though, I don't know whether Atsushi knew who the man was. If he did, he would've most likely pulled me away from him as soon as possible.

And then it changed. The scenario was so different. "... Evelyn-san!" I called out. No response. Just people whispering among themselves fearing for the worst. I couldn't summon her here since she hasn't died yet. She can't teleport, sadly so. "Mori-sama", I whispered as the girl in front of us began speaking. I covered my mouth with my hand before I began speaking while staring in front, "She was at the agency this morning and her boss tried to buy the ability business permit. The same guy who offered the bounty".

"That surely is interesting".

Anne's room was awfully colourful. I only noticed that as the other people left. Only four stayed, Mori, Atsushi, Tanizaki and me. I had to admit, seeing the doll didn't startle me one thing that I could thank Q of. Though, Anne was a lot bigger than Q's doll.

A game of hide-and-seek. I've played that with Elise for years now. But this area was new and I doubt her version of hide-and-seek involved giving us time to hide since the game was over once she caught us. The small room where people were caught with hands all over them... even the thought of that made me want to throw up. I couldn't lose.

Tanizaki and Atsushi began playing immediately. No surprises there since Naomi and Kenji were both caught. I wanted to see how Anne moved and I wondered what would happen if I were to throw a knife at her, would she feel any pain? I had approximately five knives in use and 15 to 20 dart sized knives that were easy to carry around. Maybe Mori would have a scalpel or two in his sleeve as well. "Anne, do you think she feels pain?" I asked Mori watching as Tanizaki was pulled into the room and Atsushi kept dodging Anne. We would have to play soon as well.

"I'm not sure but if we were to cut her limbs..." Mori was as terrifying as ever. "You have knives with you, don't you?"

"Always, but I don't think we should do something like that in front of Atsushi-san". As long as Atsushi was in belief that Mori was just an ordinary doctor, we could speak fairly freely.

Atsushi got the key. He went to the door. Everything was over, thankfully so. "Watch out young man!" Mori yelled. Everything... wasn't over? The key. I don't know what happened but were we ever given a chance to win if the key is... cursed or something? Atsushi ran towards the door almost opening it before Mori pulled him back. I'm not sure what was his goal, maybe throw off the girl, Montgomery. She certainly seemed confused as Atsushi landed on his ass.

Mori loved to blabber about the game theory. It was useful at times and he applied it well. Hopefully this pep talk- at least I thought it was one- would motivate Atsushi, I didn't wish to start cutting off Anne's limbs.
