After a dominant win last Saturday, the Colgate Raiders head to Ithaca, New York to play the Cornell University Big Red for the right to play in Lake Placid next weekend. Mitch Benson and Ian Shane matched zeros in the first period so, we'll skate to a scoreless, first intermission tie. With 16:17 left in the second period, Matt Verboon scored his eighth goal of the season, on the power play to make it 1-0 Colgate. Benson and Shane matched zeros for the remainder of the period so, 1-0 Colgate heading to the second intermission. With 15:47 left in the third period, Ben Berard scored to tie the game 1-1. With 1:29 left in the third period, Matt Steinburg scored to make it 2-1 Cornell. With 50 seconds left in the third period, Kyle Penny scored to make it 3-1 Red. Ian Shane finished off the Raiders and Cornell takes game one by a score of 3-1. Cornell leads the series 1-0.
