After a fight for Colgate's life, both teams now fight for a spot in Lake Placid and one of these teams will make it there with a win this afternoon. Mitch Benson and Ian Shane matched zeros in the first period so, we'll skate to a scoreless, first intermission tie. With 8:05 left in the second period, Matt Verboon scored his tenth goal of the season to make it 1-0 Colgate. Benson and Shane matched zeros for the remainder of the period so, 1-0 Colgate heading to a vital third period. With 8:12 left in the third period, Ross Mitton scored his fifth goal of the season to make it 2-0 Hamiltonians. With 7 seconds left in the third period, Ben Berard scored to make it 2-1 Colgate! Mitch Benson seals the deal for the Hamiltonians and Colgate will head to Lake Placid because of a 2-1 win and a 2-1 series win over Cornell!
