Mitchell Benson was born and raised in Windsor, Ontario and is the son of Richard and Linda Benson. Mitch played the previous two seasons with the Brooks Bandits of the AJHL and the Victoria Grizzlies of the BCHL. In 2015-16, Benson recorded a .911 save percentage and Colgate definitely took advantage of that pretty solid statistic. Benson caught my eye because he wore the number Alex Evin and Mark Dekanich wore during their time here at Colgate and my expectations were high. Majoring in biology, Mitch Benson will graduate in May but, since he was hurt last year, he could come back for a fifth season. Ladies and gentlemen number one, Mitch Benson!
