"Can we get a nurse!" Being back in a hospital always gives Clara such a weird feeling. She somehow still always knows what is going on around her: patients getting rushed to ORs or which person was in charge of doing what job. The chaotic mess of the hospital gave Clara somewhat of a homey feeling. Bucky, with everyone rushing around, refused to put her down. He said he didn't want to risk her getting pushed down. He continued calling out for help, but all the nurses would rush by them with their own problems.
"Great." He whispered under his breath, agitated. Clara looked around the hospital, and eventually her eyes stopped on a woman. She looked like she was in her mid-to-late thirties. She had medium length hair with curls on the end that bounced on her shoulders. She had light brown skin, and Clara had to admit, she was pretty attractive looking. It was the bags under her eyes that gave her true age away. She caught Clara's eye too before looking back down at the patient she was working with.
"Bucky." She tapped his chest with her finger tips. "Let's ask that woman. I think she'll help us." Bucky looked in the direction she was looking.
"She's working with another patient. I doubt she'll stop what she is doing to help us. She'll probably just say find another nurse." Clara shook her head.
"I don't think so. Let's ask." Bucky looked from the lady, back to her. He was still unsure, but at this point he had no other choice. He slowly passed through the crowd, making his way over to the woman. Clara could see the woman's eyes quickly glance up at them a few times, but she continued doing what she was doing.
"Excuse me?" Bucky said when he got close enough to the woman. She looked at them, and Clara could tell that she was telling herself that she was right about us coming over. "Can you help us?" Clara observed the woman's eyes look down at her red-stained stomach. She dropped her hands down and dropped her head. She felt Bucky tense up. He was waiting for a no. However, the woman let out a long sigh. She stopped the first nurse that walked past.
"Can you bring Mr. Heckler back to his room for me please? I have to deal with another patient." The nurse nodded, and she took the bed and started wheeling the patient she was dealing with alway. She took off her gloves and threw them in a trash can. "Come with me." She sped down the hall, and Bucky looked at Clara with surprise before following.
"How did you know she would help?" Bucky asked her as they followed the nurse down a hall.
"I had an intuition. She has that look that she wanted to help." The woman led them down so many hallways, eventually bringing them to a not so full part of the hospital. She made another left before stopping a few doors down and opening it.
"In here." She held the door open for them, and Bucky just stood there. "Come on, I can't take forever. I have a job to do upstairs." Bucky walked into the room, and there was a table in the middle of the room. "Place her on the table. Take off those shirts and lift up the shirt she is wearing so I can see." Bucky did as he was told and gently set Clara down on the table. She winced a bit when her stomach stretched out a bit, but she was able to recover quickly. Meanwhile, the nurse put on a new set of gloves and grabbed a medical kit underneath the counter under the sink.
"Thank you so much," Bucky told her. The woman looked over Clara.
"You two are superheroes huh? And I'm assuming this is from whatever happened tonight at that meeting that went wrong?" Clara nodded.
"Yup." Clara felt the nurse squeeze some liquid into her wound, causing her to tense up a bit and grip the side of the table.
"You don't see very surprised that we just came waltzing in here." The lady shrugged as she took cotton balls and continued to clean the wound.
