They walked into the crowded room, which turned out to be the art gallery they had walked through earlier. Everyone was clubbing, whether it was jumping in the air, grinding on each other, or drinking in the corner and chatting. There were also people aroudn the room with IPads, most likely selling the Styx Clara pressed herself close to Bucky, afraid to get separated from him, and she tried to avoid get bumped into or her toes stepped on.
"Alright guys. Lay low, blend in, enjoy the party." Sharon disappeared into the crowd, leaving the four of them alone. Zemo smiled when he saw the bar.
"I haven't partied in a long time...you know, being locked up in that cell after all these years." Zemo pushed past people and made his way to the bar.
"The last party I've been to, the music wasn't this loud, dancing was actual dancing, and there were strobe lights." Bucky shouted above the noise, and Clara laughed.
"The last party I went to was back in college." Sam shouted above the noise as well.
"I've never actually been to a party before." Sam and Bucky both looked at her in disbelief, but it was true. She wasn't cool enough to be invited to anything in highschool, and her college years were cut short, not that she would've gotten invited to anything anyway.
"Someone should keep an eye on Zemo," Bucky pointed to Zemo, who was looking at a painting. The three of them looked at each other, then finally, Sam volunteered.
"I'll watch. You two need to experience a real party." Sam smiled at them, and disappeared into the crowd, leaving her and Bucky standing there awkwardly.
Clara was about to say something, but some lady came up to them and started getting close to money.
"Hey hot stuff." Clara could smell the alcohol on her. Drunk. "Why don't you come join me on the dance floor and show off some of your moves." She laughed very obnoxiously. Then she saw Clara. Her wife smiled faded and she sort of looked at Clara, disgusted. "Are you with her?" Clara nodded.
"Yeah, I'm with him." She was clearly judging her, and she wrapped her arm around Bucky's metal arm.
"Come on, baby, come dance with me. I cans show you a good time. Better than her." Clara wanted to claw her down right then and there, but she knew she was drunk and Sharon said to not cause a scene. Fortunately, Bucky broke loose from her grasp and stepped close to her.
"Sorry. I'm with her." She scoffed and she turned away. As she did, she almost tripped over her own feet.
"Whatever. You're gonna miss out, babe." As soon as she was out of sight, her and Bucky started cracking up.
"Let's walk around for a bit." She grabbed his left hand, which was gloved at the moment, and they pushed through the crowd. They mostly observed the party, and the both of them would start to get hit on by guys or girls until the people saw that they were holding hands, then they would just blend back into the crowd. A few times, she actually saw Sam talking to a few other people about different paintings, and she even saw Zemo dancing.
"Bucky, look." She pointed to Zemo from across the room. He was bobbing his fist back and forth.
"Is that?" Bucky asked, but he didn't even finish."Yup. Sometimes it's hard to believe this guy is this sinister genius." She was watching Zemo having such a good time, and she even started bobbing her head back and forth and tapping her foot. But this party wasn't her style. It was too chaotic. She felt better watching front her side then joining in the mosh pit.
