POV-Reggie

I woke up with Mrs. Harvey gone, but April was sitting next to me, just staring.

"Well good morning to you, too," I said as I rolled to face the little girl.

"I couldn't wake you up," she pouted. "Mommy left forever ago and I can't touch you."

I kind of just stared back at her, forgetting I was a ghost for a moment. "Oh right. That's because I'm a magician, remember?"

"That's so cool!" April giggled. "Can you fly yet?"

I shook my head before getting up and leaving the room. One great thing about being a ghost is that, even though I still need sleep, I don't ever have to go to the bathroom. April followed me into the kitchen. Then proceeded to tell me how she already finished off all the sugar from yesterday. Great. I told her to go watch T.V while I figured out what we should today.

It didn't take me long to find a note on the front door that read:

Reggie,

I scheduled a meet the teacher for April today at noon. She starts preschool in a week and I wasn't expecting to be called into work today. It'd be a big help if you took her. Please be careful. The preschool is an old elementry school called Maple Elementary. It's on Maple Ave. There's a sign out front that reads "Tiny Toppers."

Be safe. Love you both

Mom

P.S. The teachers name is Ms Kristen Sironen

I pulled the note off the door and shoved it into my pocket incase I forgot the name of the school or something. I looked at the clock, which read 11:30. Shit, I hope this place isn't far.

I rushed over to April and picked her up. I then ran into her room with her to get her dressed. I put her in a little white shirt with pink flowers on it and a pink skirt that matched. She wore white tights underneath, silver, sparkley boots, and jean jacket, and pink bow in her hair, which I let her wear down today.

I grabbed her hand and we rushed out of the house at 11:35. I told her it was race and ran just a little bit ahead of her following the street signs as I went. I saw the school in the distance and told April that if she wanted to win, she had to touch the sign first. I slowed down my jog to almost a fast walk and she took off ahead of me towards the sign.

As she reached the sign, she put her hand on and turned to me out of breath. "I win! You're slow!"

I laughed as I picked her up. Another advantage to being a ghost is I have no body. No body, no lungs. No lungs means I can literally run any distance and never run out of breath.

"We gotta go inside," I told her.

"Are we gonna steal more cookies?" She asked innocently.

"We never did that," I looked at her with stern eyes.

"Yeah we did," she giggled. "Yesterday you sto-"

"No I didn't, April," this time I glared at her to get my point across. She understood it was one of those things that we don't talk about. Like Bruno.

We walked into the building and asked the secretary where the room was. We told to go down the hall and it was second to last door on the left. I put  April down and we walked down to the class room.

When we entered, there was no one in the very rainbow decorated room, except a woman who looked to be in her mid twenties, with almost red, wavey hair. She had a bright smile that seemed contageous and rosey cheeks and wore a black dress shirt that went about half way down her thighs, and rainbow leggings with black boots.
