(Y/n) POV

"Kanna? Kanna?" I called for my daughter through the halls, "Come on, Kanna, everyone is ready. Aunt Katara will freak if we're not there and I don't feel like dealing with her tonight."

You'd think an six year old would be easy to track in a castle filled with servants, but apparently she takes after me and my impeccable hiding skills!

"Spirits, now I know how Zuko felt," my hand trailed down my face. "Kanna!"

Turning the corner I saw the curtains to the war room, now known as the council room, opened. I huffed and walked inside, "Kanna, I said you and the others could play strategy after lunch-" I paused seeing a little boy instead.

There in the centre of the room my messy haired nephew stood over the large map, "Now!" He waved around the pointer stick, "As General of the Fire Nation, I believe it best that we sent ten thousand of our troops to support our allies... and blow them rebels up!"

I smirked, leaning against a pillar as Bumi went on, he definitely had his mother's Water Tribe spunk in him. And from the looks of the oversized chest plate he stole, he had Aang's as well.

"And where did you get that armour?" I made the ten year-old jump.

He shot his head over and his eyes widened, "A-Aunt (Y/n)!" He quickly used his small stick to lean on, "Heeey," he tried to act cool.

I copied his tone and leaned forward, "Heeey."

"W-what's up, Auntie?"

I stalked towards him, "Oh you know... I was looking for your cousin for lunch, but that begs the question... why aren't you there?" I raised a brow, not losing my smirk.

"I uh.." he looked down, "I found these real Fire Nation uniforms and I wanted to try them out," he blushed.

I looked down at the boy and crossed my arms, "And where did you 'find' this old uniform?" My tone became more menacing.

The boy, now losing all his confidence, "Uh.. it just appeared?"

"Appeared where my dear sweet nephew?"

Bumi's blush was even more noticeable on his medium skin tone. Unlike his brother and sister Bumi had gained a perfect mix of his parents complexion, meaning it was easier to see through his lies.

"It just," he let out a sigh. "Appeared in Uncle Zuko's study."

I huffed and shook my head, "Honestly Bumi I'm disappointed in you," I watched him flinch. "You've visited how many times and you can't even tie the straps correctly?"

His head lifted up and tilted sideways, "What..?"

I tisked and knelt down, "If you think I'd let the next general of my army lead a meeting without tightening his chest plate you have another thing coming," I teased. "Here, let me."

I began to undo his knotted straps and took my time to make them properly. It took a moment from how badly he tied them together, but it's nothing I couldn't fix.

"I'm sorry, Aunt (Y/n)," he sulked. "I was just playing around."

I couldn't help but chuckle, "Bumi I'm not mad at you. I think it's funny."

"You do?" His head perked up.

I nodded, "When I was younger your Dad would always steal Uncle Zuko's clothes and pretend to be him to piss him off."

"Really?" He began to smile.

"Mhum," I smiled back. "You should've seen the damage we used to do," I tightened his straps. "And besides, you'll have some of your own soon. Are you excited?"
