Chapter 7: The Chūnin Exams

Timeskip (Two days before Chūnin exams)

Team 7 was waiting on the bridge for their sensei while Sakura was irritating the boys .

"Is he here yet?" Sakura asked.

"No." the boys replied

"Is here yet?"

"No." they replied and getting slowly irritated.

"Is here yet?"

"NO."

"Is here yet?"

"NO!" the boys yelled.

"Is he-"

"NO!!" at this point point they were just mad. "Goddammit Sakura he'll get here when he gets-" Sasuke was interrupted as a swirl of leaf appears on top of a column. "Yo-" Kakashi said. "I'MMA KILL 'IM!" Naruto yelled trying to kill Kakashi for making him go through that torture as Sakura and Sasuke held him back barely with their full strength. Kakashi sweatdropped at their Naruto's reaction. "I was actually getting the forms for you all to enter the Chūnin exams." Kakashi said defensively. This is seemed to calm him down.

Kakashi handed out the forms and told them to come to the third floor of the academy if they chose to give the exams and dismissed them for the day. As Naruto, Sasuke and Sakura were walking through the village Naruto couldn't help but chuckle as he saw Sakura and Sasuke steal glances at each other. "You know I'm pretty sure almost all of Konoha can see that you two like each other." Naruto said leaving both of them flustered. Naruto smirked and continued walking with Sasuke muttering something about him being an idiot.

"Hey lemme go you bully." a voice was heard from a heard an alley. Naruto recognizing Konohamaru's voice went to investigate. "Let him go." Naruto's voice was heard behind the boy who was had grabbed Konohamaru by the collar. "Big brother Naruto!" Konohamaru exclaimed. "You are his brother?" make up boy questioned. "Not by blood. Now Let. Him. Go." Naruto said holding up his hand charging his chi. "I would listen to him. You don't wanna get on his bad side." Sasuke said as he and Sakura approached. "Kankuro put that kid down. You are a disgrace to our village." a red head said as he came in a swirl of sand. "G-Gaara I was ju-" "Shut up." red head said.

"You-" Gaara said pointing to Naruto. "What is your name?" "It's rude to ask someone their name without giving your own." Naruto said folding his hands. "Sabaku no Gaara. These are my siblings Temari and Kankuro" Gaara said pointing to the other two. "Naruto Uzumaki." Naruto said smirking. Gaara turned and began walking away with Kankuro and Temari. As they were leaving Temari turned back to look at Naruto with a small blush. Naruto noticed her and smiled. Which caused Temari to turn back flustered.

"Looks like a Saiyan has got a crush." Sakura teased Naruto. Naruto just looked like he didn't understand what was going on. Sasuke just sighed wondering how the 'Prince of all Saiyans' could be this dumb.

Timeskip (Day of Chūnin exams)

As Team 7 came on the second floor, they noticed the genjutsu and continued to go on their way when "My name is Rock lee. You must be Sakura-san. Let's go out together. I will protect you with my life." Rock lee said with his nice guy pose. "I already have a boyfriend." Sakura deadpanned. Rock lee had dark clouds over his head. "Who is it I'll defeat him and win your heart." Lee said enthusiastically with a fire burning in his eyes. "It's me." Sasuke said putting a hand on Lee's shoulder. "Sasuke-san I challenge you to a fight!" Lee said. "If you really wanna fight me that bad. First get through the first round of the Chūnin exams and second if you are looking for a challenge fight Naruto there. He's way stronger than me." Sasuke said pointing to Naruto who was smirking. "You are just being modest Sasuke-san. Surely you are stronger as you are the last Uchiha." Lee said ignoring the claim that Naruto was stronger. Naruto had shock written all over his face "A-am I being ignored?" Naruto questioned. Lee once again just ignored him. "Hey I'm talking here." Lee still ignored him. "I'm sick and tired of being ignored!" Naruto went to punch Lee but was stopped as he got an idea. "Hey you bushy brows!-" Naruto said getting Lee's attention. "How about you fight Sasuke after the first round if you beat me. Also are your teammates idiots for just standing there and staring at us?" 'How did he sense us we were even hiding our chakra.' Neji thought. Neji and TenTen went forward to greet them but Naruto just sneered and told his team to move. "He's just a bit prideful." Sakura said before leaving.

In the examination room

As team 7 entered they felt a rush of KI targeted at the which was nothing for Sasuke and Naruto. "Hey you idiots! Who do you think you are trying to intimidate? Huh?! I am Naruto Uzumaki the strongest genin here! What chance do you have against me?!" Naruto yelled letting out some of his KI scaring everyone except Gaara, Sasuke and a Kusa-nin.

"You guys should keep it down. You are rookies aren't you. There are many people here who have taken these exams more than once. I myself have taken these exams seven times. My name is Kabuto Yakushi by the way." Kabuto smiled. "Seven times! WOW you must suck then." Kiba said. No one had noticed his team standing. 'Naruto-kun' Hinata thought as she blushed. "Naruto~kun! You are here." a mop of blond hair jumped on the Saiyan's back. "Get off of me." Naruto said and took Ino off his back. "Oi I just told you to keep a low profile a few minutes ago." Kabuto said. "Hey so since you have took this exams more than once so do you have some information on some people." Kiba asked. "Yes in fact I can find information on everyone here with the help of this ninja info cards." Kabuto said holding out a deck of cards. "Who do want information on?" Kabuto asked. "Give me information on Gaara of the sand, Rock Lee and Naruto Uzumaki. " Sasuke said. "Wait. Why me? You could just ask me Sasuke." Naruto said. Sasuke just shrugged. "I want info on Sasuke then." Naruto huffed.

"Oh you know their names that makes it less fun." Kabuto said. "Let's see Gaara of the sand 8-C ranks impressive a B rank as a Genin and not just that he's team has come out without a scratch." "WHAT?!" exclaimed everyone. While Naruto just looked at Gaara and smirked. "Yes that is what's written here. Now Rock Lee let's see 20-D ranks and 11-C ranks under Might Guy and his teammates are TenTen and Neji Hyuuga. Also said to possibly open upto 5 inner gates. Now Naruto Uzumaki 15-D ranks, 3-C ranks and-" Kabuto's eyes widened "And what?" everyone asked. "And 3-A ranks. Teammates are Sasuke Uchiha and Sakura Haruno. Also said to have some form of energy multiplier." Naruto smirked while inwardly he was getting suspicious Kabuto.

"All right now Sasuke Uchi-" before Kabuto could speak further Ibiki enetered and explained rules (like canon).

Naruto was sitting besides Hinata who kept glancing at Naruto and blushed. 'Wow she really is a yandere' Naruto thought.

Timeskip (after Ibiki explained the rules of the tenth question.)

Once enough teams had left Naruto stood up "Come on just give us the tenth question already. I have a dream to become the strongest in the universe and I refuse to let a rank hold me down." Naruto said with such determination that it gave everyone new found hope.

"Well then are you sure you wish to stay?" No one moved. Ibiki smirked and said "Well in that case. You all pass." Ibiki was explaining the true purpose of the exams when a ball came flying through the window with the banner 'Single Anko Mitarashi.' "What's this Ibiki you let 26 teams pass?! You are losing your touch." Anko said.

"Or maybe just have tough batch this time." Ibiki said smiling. "Whatever all right maggots listen up be at training ground 44 in 5 minutes or you all fail." Anko said and left in a shunshin.
