Chapter 24: injury

Dream ran through the woods as she kept turning around and shooting some arrows as Sapnap and George carried BBH in front of him.

"Quickly!" they heard Tina's voice. Looking forward, Dream finally saw the opening of their portal where Karl and Tina were waiting for them.

He ran faster still making sure that he was still shooting. Although as he shot one last hunter, he didn't notice the bear trap which caught his leg making him fall.

He yelled as the hunters shot his arm and shoulder and one landed on his thigh making him scream more. From the look of the liquid that was seeping from the wound he knew the arrow was poisoned.

Tears flowed down his cheeks but pulled out the arrows in his shoulder and arm as he tried to move backwards. He could hear the hunters making him worried more.

A hunter landed in front of him and tilted its head at him. Dream gulped and grabbed the arrow, the only weapon he had with him.

The hunter stalked to him but before it could attack it was killed with an axe. Dream turned to see Callahan there just in time.

"Come on." Callahan signed before grabbing Dream and rushing to the portal just in time before another poisoned arrow could hit the both of them.

Rebecca rushed to the familiar loft of the Jumpers. It had been so long since the last time she had been to the city.

If Tina wanted to see her or George or Sapnap they all went to their home. Rebecca didn't want to give the chance of bumping into her old family.

But at the news, she grabbed the kids and brought them to the city. Unlike their mother, the kids had been to the city for school or with friends or just with their father but from the worried look on her face, the kids knew it was different this time.

She opened the loft door and Tina and Callahan were quick to get the kids to the balcony as George led her to where Dream was at.

When she finally saw him, she let out a gasp, catching the attention of Karl and Sapnap. "Rebecca-" "You told me it was going to be fine." The woman cut off Karl.

Karl sighed and looked away. This made Rebecca snicker and push past him to hover over her husband.

She frowned and gently placed a hand on his cheek. Dream steered a bit and opened his eyes slowly.

He sent her a small smile and she sighed, "Do not look at me like that." She scolded him making him pout slightly. "You got hurt." She pointed out as Sapnap moved around his laying best friend to help Karl in taking the arrow out.

"Just another day at work." Dream said. Rebecca shook her head, "You have a family now Dream." She reminded him making him sighed.

Grabbing her hand, "We're gonna be okay." he said. But before Rebecca could say anything, Dream yelled in pain as Sapnap finally pulled the arrow out of his thigh.

Rebecca cringed but cupped his cheeks and leaned her forehead on his. "Shhh..." she shushed him as she wiped the tears away.

"Uhh... Karl." Sapnap suddenly said catching the attention of Rebecca. She pulled away and turned to see the wound starting to be covered with black veins. "No..." she muttered.

She clenched her eyes shut as she remembered how Foolish became a deity. "I haven't seen anything like this." Sapnap muttered.

But Karl did and he knew that Rebecca did too. He looked at her as she cried and shook her head, "Rebecca-" But before he could say anything, she hovered over the wound and pushed Sapnap and Karl away.

"Rebecca you can't do anything-" But before Sapnap could remind her that she doesn't have magic anymore, she hovered her hand over the wound and her palm glowed.
