Chapter 25: healing
༻✦༺ ༻✧༺ ༻✦༺
Sapnap and Karl watched in shock as Dream hissed. They watched as Rebecca started to mutter under her breath as her palm started to glow brighter.
The light radiated warmth and Dream felt it. He also felt the poison leaving his body like vines that were being pulled out by tweezers. He felt his skin stitching back up together. He felt her healing her.
As Dream hissed and clenched his eye shut. Sapnap watched in utter shock. He could not believe what was happening in front of his eyes, Rebecca, the not immortal version, was healing his best friend.
But Karl stood there as realization hit him. It all made sense now, all the protectiveness from Phil or Kristin's sadness when she decided to leave the Crafters. Why the two had broken their rule.
To Karl it all finally made sense to him. It brought light to all of the assumption and anger that Phil had towards to what Rebecca and Dream had.
The light finally faded as Rebecca let out a breath. She started to open her eyes but she swayed. Sapnap was quick to catch her, he looked at Karl who clenched his jaw.
"What the hell just happened?"

Dream brushed the hair away from her face. Rebecca was still unconscious and it worried him a lot. The kids were brought to get food with George and Tina so that they wouldn't be able to see their mother.
Karl had just explained to the other Jumpers what happened and Dream tried to gather what he knew from whatever Rebecca had told him but nothing made sense.
That was until Callahan stood up and poked Karl. "Callahan..." Sapnap trailed but the timeline shook his head.
"You know something." Callahan signed as he narrowed his eyes to Karl. BBH looked at them before Dream sighed. The blonde felt like Karl had a hunch on what's going on but he didn't want to focus on that.
Dream was more worried for Rebecca who had yet to wake up. He was worried for the love of his life. He was worried for his children.
After almost 5 years of having a semi normal life; aside from the monthly on call work from Karl, he didn't want to lose that.
His thoughts were interrupted when Karl sighed, "Callahan stop-" "You know something! Just tell us! Rebecca is our friend and if you know something that can help her why are you hiding it?!"
Callahan was upset. Rebecca was a part of them now and he was beyond worried. But Karl shook his head, "I can't. Not until I hear it from Phil himself." He said.
Dream furrowed his eyebrows, "Phil? Why is he in this conversation?" he asked confused as to why Karl would even mention the god of life.
Karl looked at him and then to Rebecca, "Because I think he knows the truth on who she actually is."

Rebecca finally opened her eyes. She wasn't in their bed in the more secluded part of New York. Oh no, she was in Dream's old bed in the Jumper's loft.
She sighed and sat up looking around the familiar room. She can hear the others outside, her friends, her husband and children. She sighed when she remembered what happened.
She didn't know how she did it, but seeing Dream like that? It triggered something inside her.
Her thoughts were interrupted when she heard the arguments outside her room. She couldn't help but smile at the voices.
"But dad-" "No. Your mom needs some rest." She heard Dream cut Rosie off. Thorn then groaned, "But dad! Mom has been asleep for hours!" he whined.
This made Rebecca smile, Thorn was just like Dream, in every way possible while Rosie was just like her. Lila was more in the middle.
Dream tried to stop their twins but Lila already opened the door and peeked her head in. Rebecca tilted her head and smiled at her. Lila pursed her lips as she looked at her mother in worry.
This made Rebecca chuckle, stopping the arguing of the twins and her husband. "Well what are you doing there Lila? Come here." She said.
"Mom?!" the twins asked as they pushed the door open and rushed to her. Dream sighed as he followed after a calm Lila before closing the door.
Rosie and Thorn crawled to her sides as Lila sat by her feet. Dream sat beside her as they both watched the twins ask Rebecca how she was.
Rebecca was quick to answer how she was just tired, glancing at Dream ever so often which did not go unnoticed by Lila.
The eldest knew it was more than just her being tired or worried. Unlike the twins, Dream and Rebecca didn't hide anything from their past to her.
Lila knew about the fact that her father was one of the Jumpers and that her uncles were the keepers of time. She also knew that her mother once was an immortal and worked with gods and goddesses. She also knew all about Cairo 1821.
So it wouldn't be weird to her if something like that was the reason as to why her mother was out cold for hours.
"You'll be okay right mom?" Thorn asked worriedly. Rebecca chuckled and kissed his head as Rosie cuddled on her side. "I will be. No need to worry my angels." She said.
Dream jokingly snickered, "Angels? More like gremlins-" he was cut off by the twins launching themselves at him making him laugh.
Lila however still watched her mother. Rebecca sighed and opened her arms and the eldest didn't hesitate to hug her. Rebecca sighe din relief, "I'll be fine sweetheart." She whispered.
"I'm worried mom." Lila whispered. Rebecca kissed her head and patted her cheek, "No need to get all worked up. Me and your dad will work around it. You know we always do." She said.
Lila nodded and snuggled closer to her mother making Rebecca chuckle. This made Dream huff, "How dare mom and Lila cuddle without us." He said.
The twins huffed and jumped on them making the two girls laugh. Dream smiled as their children surrounded the love of his life.
Rebecca looked at him and motioned for him to come closer. "Dad seems left out." She joked. Lila and Rosie giggled and pulled him amking him fall on top of Thorn, "Dad you're heavy!"
This made the small family laugh and Dream tickled Thorn. Rebecca smiled as they stayed in bed. Not wanting to face what will come about her situation.
