3rd POV
After three weeks the young assassin has yet to wake up. The sedative had been flushed out her system, yet she had been completely still, not a single part of her had moved.
Dr. Shen had assured Jerry that the experiment was a success and that her body just needed time to adjust itself. There even had been a reaction to the solution and it even ended up fatally injuring a young nurse who was attempting to fix the IV bag .
Jerry was proud to know that his niece would be back to how she was. Strong. He even smiled at the idea that she may be stronger than she was before. The perfect killing machine.
Yet, she had not woken up. The old doctor kept promising that she would wake up, but Jerry was getting impatient. He had yet to figure out who threatened his organization and there was another attack on one of his cargo ships.
Each attack was near his other bases in other countries which made him suspect that whoever was behind this knew where all the hide outs where and how to get to them. That could only mean one thing, there was a rat.
Jerry desperately needed Scarlett to wake up so he could remind the criminal world of why they should fear him.
At this point the four other team members were beginning to worry. Jade feared that Scarlett had in fact died, Ruby feared their leader had been placed on probation, Mika feared that Scarlett would never come back, and Cassy worried that there would be no one to lead them.
It wasn't until the fourth week that the young girl's hand twitched. The nurses frantically checked her pulse when they saw slight movement coming from her body.
Dr. Shen had been rushed in and they quickly began to work on stabilizing her. Her eyes fluttered open before closing again. The doctor barked orders around as everyone desperately tried to make sure Scarlett stayed awake.
Finally her eyes opened and she began to wiggle around.
Scarlett's POV
My eyes flutter open and I'm blinded by a bright light. My skin crawls from how cold I am. I move my arm just to end up feeling how stiff my body is.
How long was I out. I push myself up, but a hand stops me by pushing on my chest. I lay back down on the u comfortable bed and look to my side. Jerry stands next to me and Dr. Shen next to him.
"Finally your awake," Jerry smiles down at me.
"How long was I out?" I croak. My throat was raspy and was begging for water.
"Almost five weeks" he responds. "How do you feel?"
Like as if he actually cares
"Stiff, I need to move around" I groan. I attempt to sit up again and this time when I'm successful up I swing my feet to the side of the bed. I grip the bed and gently place my feet in the cold floor.
My knees buckle under me and I catch myself. Taking a deep breath I push myself up fully.
My body screams from not moving for so long. I begin to stretch out my joints. I guess I should be happy I woke up, but I can't conjure the emotion.
"Um" Dr. Shen speaks up. "we injected you with an improved solution of the original one we gave you as a child. Unfortunately since we did it again and doubled the amount you may find or hard to uh... how do I word this? Over time you may find it more and more difficult to feel emotions."
Jerry smirks.
Annoying
Of course that is probably good news for Jerry. An assassin who will follow his orders with no remorse for the things she is doing.
