Sonic X : Planet Zero

The Search Begins

After walking through the portal, Caitlin had now landed into this mysterious planet. This planet felt a lot like Earth as it was filled with trees and green grassy hills. There were also many different kinds of animals roaming among the area. Most of these small animals were known as flickies and they lived primarily in the forest while the larger, anthropomorphic-like animals lived in the city.

As Caitlin wandered into the woods, she then approaches a large ship, painted in red, white and black colors. The ship belonged to none other than Dr. Eggman. Inside, Dr. Eggman was having lunch with his two robot minions, Decoe and Bocoe. Caitlin walked up to the entrance of the ship and gave a gentle knock, unsure if anyone was inside.

Eggman stopped eating for a moment and grumbled.

"Ugh who can that be now? Must be the package guy delivering my equipment late again."

Decoe and Bocoe then raced to the door. As they opened it both of them were startled as they saw Caitlin. She was startled at seeing them too as she wasn't expecting to see two talking robots.

"Woah! Dr Eggman it's a girl!" exclaimed Decoe.

"A human girl too!" Bocoe had added on.

Caitlin gently gave them a wave.

"Um...hi...I don't mean to bother it's just...well I sorta just transported into this place and I don't really know where I am."

Eggman let out a sigh and then commanded his robots for her to enter.

"Let her in..."

The young girl then walked in slowly, looking around the place. She then took a good look at the evil scientist and was surprised to see how odd he looked. He was about three feet taller than her and was shaped almost like that of an egg.

"So who are you and what brings you here to my lair?" the Doctor had asked.

She answered, "Well my name's Caitlin and I travel from a distant land in hopes that I can find my father."

"His name?" he muttered.

She was unsure whether she should give him her father's full name but she goes ahead and tells him anyway.

"His name is Victor Thomas. He was a brilliant inventor and taught me everything he knew about science and machinery. I was only 6 years old when I last saw him."

Eggman went silent for a moment. That name had rung a bell to him.

"Victor Thomas? Why, I actually know him! We use to be good colleagues, he and I. Well that is until HE BETRAYED ME!"

Caitlin jumped as he shouted angrily. She couldn't believe what he had just said. Her father being a traitor?

He then shows her an image of a nearby planet on his monitor.

"You see this planet right? Looks pretty doesn't it? Well what if I told you that this entire planet is filled with evil cyborgs!"

He turned over to look at her.

"I assume you're from planet Earth right?"

Caitlin silently nodded her head.

"Well we better watch out because they're planning to attack your planet next!"

She gave him a look of both confusion and worry. She couldn't help but think to herself if this guy is truly serious about all this.

He continued to show more pictures on the monitor screen.

"Many of these poor creatures were once humans just like us, until a mysterious being had one day transformed all of them into half-robot freaks!"

He continued to ramble on.

"So it's up to us to figure out who the culprit is behind all of this and bring justice to all humans!"

"But I've never heard of this planet before," she stated.

"Well good thing you have me here to teach you about all these opposing enemies of ours," he explained with a chuckle.

"Oh and my apologies for being rude. I forgot to introduce myself to you. My name is Dr. Eggman."

He gave her a low bow as he presented himself.

She couldn't help but think how rather unusual this guy seemed.

"Dr. Eggman? Was that his actual name? Or is it just a nickname?" she thought to herself.

"So what do you say? The two of us team up to destroy those vile creatures and restore humanity."

Caitlin thought hard for a moment. She only came here to look for her father but was also very concerned at the idea of her planet actually being destroyed by robot creatures.

"Well...okay. Just as long as nobody gets hurt."

Eggman tried correcting her.

"Well sorry to say but there will be some people getting hurt. But don't worry, the bad guys are the ones getting hurt, not us."

As the egg shaped man continued to discuss his diabolical plan, a flash of light then crashes into the ship. The blue creature was none other than Sonic the Hedgehog.

"Up to your old tricks again, eh Eggface?"

"Oh you won't get away with messing up my plans this time Sonic. I made a new friend here in case you didn't know and with the help of her smarts and combining it with my geniusness, we will both conquer the planet."

"Um, I didn't ask to conquer any planet..." she stated.

But the Doctor didn't listen to her. He pressed a button on his remote which revealed a large machine rising up from the ground in front of him. This machine was revealed to be a large stabilizer which shoots different types of chemicals in the form of laser beams. He then held onto the two triggers on the stabilizer.

"This oughta get him."

He pulled the trigger and began firing off laser beams. He tried his hardest to catch Sonic but the machine just couldn't keep up with him.

"Wait! Please don't hurt him."

The girl had begged him to stop but Eggman didn't listen to her and just continued to fire his lasers at the hedgehog.

Caitlin didn't like all this destruction going on. She quickly hatches an idea and tries to stall the scientist.

"Hey sir! I think I heard a signal from one of the cyborgs. They say they have a message for you."

Eggman jumped in excitement upon hearing this.

"What! Really?"

As he moved away from the stabilizer and hopped over to look at his computer, Caitlin then scurried over to take control of the triggers but she didn't know how to use them correctly. She accidentally hit one of the emergency buttons on Eggman's control panel. The ship was now going on self-destruct mode. A countdown began starting from 5 and as soon as it reached 1, a giant explosion had occurred blowing up the ship to bits and pieces.

The blue hedgehog had managed to escape the impact just in time, but started coughing due to all the smoke floating around. As he continued to find his way out, he runs into Caitlin lying unconscious on the ground. He then carries the young girl in his arms and tries to find a safe place for her to stay.

Eggman and his robots had been caught in the impact and were mostly injured. He lifted his head up slowly from all the rubble, completely furious that half of his ship was now destroyed. Fortunately for him, half of it was still left intact.
