The next morning, after seeing her dad in the hospital, Caitlin tried packing all her stuff together to take back home with her. She had between today and tomorrow to spend the rest of the time on the planet with her friends.

After having breakfast, she went to check on Tails who was in his inventory room.

"Hi Tails, hope you haven't been too busy here sorting things out."

"Hey it's fine. I'm usually in here most of the time when I'm not out adventuring."

It appears that Tails was clearing up his workplace and trying to move the equipment he was working with from his desk.

As he passed by, the table shook for a moment and a plant that he had right at the side of the table had shaken along with it as well and nearly fell to the ground. Luckily, Caitlin took notice of it and caught the falling plant in her arms just in time before it hit the ground.

Tails put down his stuff and held a sigh of relief as she handed the plant over to him.

"Thank you so much Caitlin. This plant really means a lot to me."

Small tears had fell from the fox's eye as he continued to look at the plant in his hand.

"Hey, is everything alright?" Caitlin asked as she noticed the tears dropping from his face.

"I'm fine it's just..."

He figured that he could probably let her in on the secret of what happened.

"Well the truth is...This plant isn't just some ordinary plant that I own. This plant actually used to be a dear friend of mine. My girlfriend to be precise."

Caitlin's eyes widened at this sudden reveal.

"Wait, really?"

"Yeah, she sacrificed herself to save not only us but for her planet and people as well."

A few tears dropped from his eyes as he continued to speak.

"She may be gone but, I'm just glad I can still hold fond memories of her by keeping her seed safe."

Caitlin smiled at him and continued to comfort him as he continued to look at the plant.

"I'm really sorry to hear you lost her Tails, but it's great that you have a small piece of her that you can remember her by. She seemed like such a great person."

"Yeah, she was. You would've liked her too, I'm sure."

Caitlin smiled back. The two then shared one final hug to remember them both by.

Later in the day, Caitlin decided to spend the afternoon going shopping with Amy, as the pink hedgehog had promised she would buy her new outfits before she would leave to go back home.

At the shop, Amy was able to find two outfits for Caitlin to try on, one was a purple dress and the other was of a rose-gold color. She even tried on the outfits and they were both a perfect fit.

After shopping, Caitlin would take one last stop with Cream at the Chao Garden. She wanted to say goodbye to her chao Lilac, whom she had grew quite fondly of. She even fed her some of the fruits that she had found at the forest, particularly berries. Cream had promised to take care of the chao for her.

The next morning, Victor had just been released from the hospital and had been riding in a wheelchair. He spent the rest of the morning with Caitlin at Vanilla's house.

When it was time for the both of them to leave, all the friends had gathered together to say their goodbyes.

Big the Cat had made it over as well.

"Aww you have to go already? I feel like I've barely known you" he said to Caitlin.

"Yeah I know. These past few days have been really crazy but I'm glad things have slowed down around here now. I've heard that you're a great fisher!"

"I am. Thank you. Froggy and I just love fishing!"

Shadow and Rouge had also made their way over as well. Caitlin walked over to them and made sure to thank them for everything they had done.

"Thank you both so much for helping us get rid of Reclus and his entire army" she said.

Shadow nodded his head and gave her a smile.

"It was nice meeting you Caitlin. And remember to keep safe out there" he told her.

She nodded her head along and made sure to keep that promise to her as well.

"Normally I would ask for something in return but I will let you all off the hook. It was nice meeting you too" Rouge said to her as well.

Victor came along just in time to say his goodbyes to them as well. He had thanked all of them and he especially thanked both Cream and Vanilla for letting her stay over at her place.

"Thank you all so much for taking care of my daughter away from home."

"It has been a pleasure good sir. You have raised such an intelligent daughter as well" Vanilla responded back.

Cream had seen Caitlin like the older sister she never had, so the young rabbit had struggled to hold back tears as she said goodbye to her. She had even brought Lilac over so she can give one more final goodbye to them as well. Caitlin helped in comforting the rabbit girl by giving her one final hug, as she had also seen her as the little sister she never had.

Although all the friends were here, there was one person who was missing in action. Caitlin was wondering where Sonic was throughout all of this as she especially wanted to say goodbye to him. He had helped her out a lot throughout this journey and helped her come out of her comfort zone too.

Just in time, Sonic had now made his way up from across the field.

"Didn't think I'd miss out on the occasion did ya?"

She gave him a soft smile and then walked towards him. But before she could say anything, he held out the flowers that they had picked the other day at the fields.

"I think you might have forgotten these" he said to her.

She remembered that she wanted to bring them home to her mom, so she thanked him for that.

"Oh yes, you're right. Thank you Sonic."

"Anytime" he said back to her with a smile and a wink.

Before she would do anything else, she took one deep breath. There were a lot of things she could say to him. Even expressing her true feelings towards him, but she knew a simple goodbye message would just be enough.

"Sonic...I really can't thank you enough for everything you have done for us. Not only for saving my dad and myself from Reclus, but also for giving me the opportunity of showing me around your world and for making me feel like I was on a real adventure with you all."

She came close to him and gave him one final hug. Tears started streaming down her face a little bit.

"I'm really going to miss you" she said to him.

"Don't worry. I'm sure we'll cross paths again someday."

He told her as he proceeded to wipe some of the tears off her face a little.

Tails went ahead and powered up the machine. A giant portal had opened up for them.

Caitlin then held onto her dad's wheelchair by the handle and walked with him over to the portal. She took one final look at all of them and gave back one final wave before the portal would close off. This journey may have seemed over but she still held onto hope that they would all meet again someday.
