Dinner Party

The next day, Caitlin was helping both Cream and Vanilla with the plants in the garden, only to be greeted by Knuckles once again as he suddenly showed up.

"So...I must have missed out on a lot here lately haven't I?"

"Oh yeah, we saw you yesterday by that giant Emerald. Sorry I couldn't properly introduce myself to you. I'm Caitlin."

The human girl said as she reached her hand out for a handshake.

"The name's Knuckles, but you probably already knew that."

"By the way, what exactly is the deal with that giant Emerald if you don't mind me asking?"

Knuckles then briefly explains what the emerald is without giving away too much of his history.

"It's called the Master Emerald and it is very important to me and my ancestors. It contains energy from all the Chaos Emeralds."

Caitlin was amazed to hear this and grew curious about these chaos emeralds.

Amy then arrives over with a plate of food in her hands.

"Hey everyone, I brought my famous casserole like I had promised."

She then turns to look at Knuckles and is surprised to see him here too.

"Knuckles! What are you doing here? We're having a girls only dinner today."

Knuckles immediately crossed his arms and pouted at her.

"Well no one informed me you all had a new visitor here...well except for Sonic who stopped by to greet me by the island yesterday. Speaking of Sonic, where is he? He told me he had something planned for us today?"

"Oh yes, because Sonic always has plans to spend time with others and not with me..."

As soon as she finished her banter, Sonic then came speeding up and showed up right in front of them.

"Alright Knuckles, you ready?"

The echidna nodded in agreement.

"Wait where are you two going?" Amy asked them.

"Knuckles and I are going to catch up with Big and help him out with some fishing."

"You sure you don't want to stay for some lunch, Sonic?"

Amy asked as she tried waving her plate in front of him.

"I made you my famous casserole dish."

"I thought you said this was a girls only party Amy..." Knuckles had teased her.

Amy knew she couldn't say no to Sonic and couldn't really think of a good answer.

"Well yes but...alright you win this time Knuckles. You go ahead and have fun without me Sonic, like you always do."

"Sorry Amy, maybe next time I'll try join up with you. You have fun too Cait."

Sonic gave both girls a wave before heading off. Caitlin couldn't help but blush as she also waved back at him. She was a little sad that Sonic couldn't stay with them for dinner but was happy to spend some time with both Amy and Cream.

"Alright girls, sorry about that interruption. Now let's get this dinner started!"

The pink hedgehog had said as she led the girls inside. She set her dish on the table and lifted up the cover, proudly revealing the casserole dish she had cooked for them. She also prepared some rice cakes on the side. Vanilla and Cream helped in preparing some tea for them to drink.

The food looked really delicious and Caitlin couldn't wait to sink her teeth into it.

"Wow Amy, this is very delicious! I could go for seconds actually!" said the human girl.
