Sonic X : Planet Zero

Aftermath

The gigantic robot had now laid on the ground and was mostly destroyed. All the cyborgs that had been defeated were now completely useless.

Shadow tried to collect a few of the emeralds that had been scattered around the area. The rest were waiting to be found.

They all gathered around close to Caitlin and her dad and tried comforting her. The young girl had a pool of tears on her face, begging him to wake up again.

"Dad! Wake up. Please speak to me."

All the rest of them looked down in sorrow as Caitlin was breaking down crying for her dad. Her head right close to where his chest was.

"His heart still seems to be beating. He has to be alive."

"I think there might be a way to bring him back to his normal self" Tails had announced, "We can take him to the hospital back on our planet and have the surgeons remove all their cybernetic parts."

"I'm sure we can help out the rest of them as well" Amy considered about the rest of the surviving cyborgs.

"It's worth a try" Knuckles sided with them as well.

They all agreed that they would take Victor and all the remaining half-human cyborgs that were still alive to the hospital where they could have their cybernetic parts removed them.

Reclus was the only one who was still conscious but was now severely weak.

Not too far from him, Eggman and his robots had jumped out from the robot mech and went over to greet the lying Reclus.

"You!" he muttered as he faced Eggman, "I swear to my grave, I will seek my revenge on you Ivo, and on those blasted hedgehogs too!"

Eggman couldn't help but smirk at his statement.

"Well, you don't have to worry on getting rid of Sonic, because I will be the one to take him down next time" he boasted to him triumphantly.

Right at that second, a couple of Mobian cops had showed up just in time to arrest the ruler.

It turns out these cops were also agents working alongside Shadow and Rouge and were all apart of the same organization.

"Hope you have fun in prison like I did" Eggman poked fun at him as he was taken away.

"So what will we do about the rest of Reclus' machines doctor?" Decoe had asked.

"Well what do you think my answer is, of course we'll be taking them with us. I can probably retool them to make them even more powerful."

The egg-shaped man then proceeded to take the rest of Reclus' inventions with him on his ship.

Now that Reclus was taken away, the rest can now move on from this whole situation and try to make it back home safely.

Certain parts of the ship were only mildly destroyed but with a few repairments it should be back to its normal state.

Mr. Thomas was placed on a rest bed near the back of the ship while Caitlin sat in the same seat as she was before.

Sonic sat right next to her on the ship. He looked over at her and gave her a smile.

"Hey it'll be alright. I promise we'll make it up to you."

Tears were still streaming down her eyes but she had returned a smile back at him as she had trusted him all this time and knew he would find a way to fix things back up.

A few days had passed and everyone had made it back to Sonic's home planet safely. The environment was still partially messed up from the robots but many of the local residents would try to take care of the respective areas by giving the land plenty of water and soil to plant trees and flowers.

At the hospital, Caitlin sat down in the waiting area, hoping to hear back more from her dad. She had heard news that today would be his final day in the hospital as the doctors were able to successfully remove all his robotic parts.

As she waited, Sonic came up to her to inform her that she was now able to see her father again.

"Hey, the doctor said that they made it through the operations successfully and that you can go and check on your dad. Are you ready?"

She was relieved yet nervous at the same time.

"I don't know. I mean I am but...I'm just worried that he might not be the same person I used to know, especially after he was under Reclus' control."

Sonic could tell how nervous she was feeling and offered her a hand. She looked over at him and blushed slightly. She returned a smile and took him by the hand. They both walked toward the room where Victor was. Her head had been racing with thoughts as she didn't know what to expect.

The doctor then opened the door and welcomed the two of them in. Mr. Thomas was laying in the bed and looking a bit more alive than he was before.

"Hey dad" Caitlin said to him gently.

Victor looked back at her weakly.

"Caitlin, is that you?"

She nodded her head back at him.

He then got up slightly from under his sheets and had his arms outstretched, hoping to receive a hug from her. She then returned one over to him. He then looked over to Sonic standing right beside her.

"Oh and it's nice to see you too."

"I'm very happy to see you doing well too sir."

Mr. Thomas then looked down in shame as he wanted to apologize for everything that had happened.

"Listen, I'm really sorry for all the times I may have attacked you and your friends and for helping Reclus in ruling over the galaxy. I hope you can forgive me."

"It's all good sir" he said back to him with a smile.

"He only needs one more day in here to rest and by tomorrow he should be out" the mobian doctor told them.

"Thank you so much for all your help doctor" she replied back to him.

The two of them then left the room and started walking out back into the hallway.

"Well great news Cait, at least you and your dad should finally make it back home safely by tomorrow."

"Really?" she asked back.

"Yeah, Tails said he just finished fixing up the portal machine so you guys can both make it back home."

"Oh yeah, you're right. I've been having so much fun here that I forgot I need to return back home. I'm sure my dad must be really missing his."

She was really happy that she was finally gonna be able to bring her dad back home in peace. At the same time however, she knew she was going to miss all her friends and the adventures she had with them along the way. She promised herself that she would make the most out of these last few days on the planet.
