auroras apartment
2:30 A.M.Aurora rolled over in her sleep with the intention to wrap her arm around her girlfriend but she opened her eyes when she felt that no one was on the other side of the bed. Aurora knew that Emily was there when they went to sleep the previous night and she had thought that Emily would never leave her without some form of goodbye. Confused, Aurora sits up and calls Emilys name out into the darkness but receives no response. The silence continued lurking in all corners of the room. Aurora didn't know where her girlfriend was and that frightened her, she pulled out her phone and started texting.
To Em <3
Where are you?
Are you okay?
Why did you leave without saying gooodbye?Aurora stared down at her phone and waited for some sort of response, her brain was going to the absolute worst by default. All she could do was sit and hope that Emily was alright. She continued to stare down at the bright screen in suspense. The light from the phone bright enough that if anyone looked into Auroras bedroom they could see the exact expression resting on her face.
Fear.
She knew she wouldn't be able to sleep without a response from the other woman, so she just laid back down in her bed with the phone in front of her face and stared, waiting. For something..
...
Emily Prentiss was on the other side of town, in the middle of the night. The only thing lighting up the dark streets were the bright stars above and the fluorescent red light shining from the large sign across the road, that was bright in her face. Her phone buzzed and she reached into her bag to look, it was from Aurora.
Emily felt awful for leaving her like that but she knew Aurora wouldn't understand. She wouldn't get why she needed to go alone, she just couldn't know at all. It was better that way.
To Rory <3
I'm fine. Be back later. Something came up.Emily hoped that the text would satisfy her girlfriend but deep down she knew it wouldn't. Because she knew if Aurora was the one who left in the middle of the night to go God knows where and do God knows what and all she received was a response like that; she wouldn't sleep until she knew at least somewhat of what was going on. She wouldn't sleep until she knew Rory was okay.
Plus, Aurora was a people pleaser, and a helper. She has a desperate need to help the people around her, and as much as Emily loves this about her. It would only make her feel worse right now.
Emily looked back down at the bright screen and saw that Aurora had sent her a few more texts, without reading them she powers off her phone and throws it back into her bag. She looked back up at the bright red bar lights shining at her. The lights almost taunting, teasing her with their brightness.
It was raining hard, something that would normally make her happy, or even comfort her, but just didn't feel right at the moment. She didn't know what to make of what was going on, or what to expect.
She walks into the establishment and looks around before spotting a man sitting alone straight across the bar. She walked over and tapped the man on the shoulder. "Hey."
"Oh. Hi look at you," the man responded and stood up to greet her. Pulling her in for a quick hug that she tried her best to shrug off.
"Sorry, i'm all wet," Emily said and tried to push off of him.
"No. I'm sorry to make you drive in this," the man responded.
Emily shook her head, "It sounded urgent," the man nodded at her slightly.
