Xin Lan had solved a personal problem of his but he wasn't any step closer to reuniting with Hua Lin Yu so far even though the other person did think of him. Still, he didn't rush. For the time being, he needed to rest up and let his face continue to heal anyway.
He moved into one of the rooms in the dragon king's palace together with Zheng Yin, not wanting to go back to the human realm immediately. He probably could but then it would be handy to have Jinde around if something happened. Also, he couldn't deny that after knowing Jinde for so long, he wanted to be there when he finally fulfilled one of his greatest wishes.
Speaking of it, that time really wasn't far off. After the operation was done and the other two had left the room, Jinde's thoughts only stayed on Xin Lan's matter for a moment longer before they turned to the following day.
Immediately, a smile bloomed on his lips and he couldn't help but turn to his husband, wrapping his arms around his neck, and then leaning in to kiss him.
Leng Jin Yu hugged him back, his brows rising faintly. "What do I deserve that for?"
Jinde gave a hum and leaned back a little, seeming to ponder. "Well, first, for being an awesome husband. Seeing you help out before really made me appreciate you all the more."
Leng Jin Yu chuckled. "I don't want you to tire yourself out even more. Of course, I should help." And really, even though he might have kept his worries to himself, he had been anxious seeing Jinde work so hard over several days in a row. Just knowing how much energy each and every single task he had done took ... that wasn't something he wanted to think too deeply about. If there was any small thing he could do to help, then of course, he would do it without hesitation.
Jinde nodded and leaned in again, giving him another kiss. "That one's for thinking it's not a big deal to support me like that. Just goes to show what amazing taste I have in men."
This time, Leng Jin Yu couldn't help but laugh out loud. "I'd love to accept that compliment but I remember not being too interested in my last life."
"Oh, that's ancient history. It's basically not true anymore. Just blame it on us being young."
Leng Jin Yu's gaze was a little complicated. In the beginning, yes, they had been young. That kind of excuse wasn't the worst for that. But he felt that he had smartened up much too late. By the time he realized, they had already been broken up with no chance of reconciliation.
He had been an idiot and he wasn't ashamed to admit it. Well, he also had to admit that he was indeed doing much better. And maybe he really shouldn't worry too much about the past. Thinking of that, he finally nodded. "I guess I should just accept it."
Jinde nodded and leaned in for yet another kiss.
"Is that for me not disagreeing with you?"
"No, but I could give you one for that as well if you insist. This one ... it's because I'm really happy thinking of tomorrow." His eyes curved up saying that and he took back his hand from Leng Jin Yu's neck, brushing over his shoulder and then his neck down to where his heart was. "I have waited for this for so long. Now, everything is in place. I am ... I am so excited but also so worried that something will go wrong at the last minute."
Leng Jin Yu reached up and covered Jinde's hand with his. "I know. I feel the same." He lowered his head, looking at that hand, and then couldn't help but tilt his head. "How have you recovered after that ordeal just now?"
Jinde raised his brows. "It's alright. I took two potions in-between so my spiritual energy has always been at an acceptable level. Don't worry, we'll definitely be able to do it. If there's anything going wrong, it won't be my health. You can rest assured of that." He smiled while his gaze softened. He knew Leng Jin Yu was worried about him. He could also understand it. Anyway, with his soul in the state it had originally been in, it was no wonder that there would be some worry left even after the problem had been solved.
Leng Jin Yu nodded and then leaned forward, kissing his cheek. "Wait a moment." He pulled back and smiled before leaving the room and going to the courtyard.
Jinde blinked his eyes and watched him leave, not sure what this was about. Had he missed something? Well, even though he was wondering, he didn't follow him. Since Leng Jin Yu had told him to wait and then left, he'd have his reasons. He wasn't so insecure to start doubting himself or his husband over this. No, the times when he would fret over such things were long past. Instead, he went to sit down and made himself a cup of tea, feeling that he should just use this time to relax a bit.
Meanwhile, Leng Jin Yu walked to the middle of the courtyard and then looked over his shoulder to check whether Jinde had really stayed inside. Seeing that he hadn't, he pulled out his transmission stone and contacted Qiu Ling.
At that time, the other person was just about the leave the backroom of the seamstress's store with Jing Yi. Realizing his transmission stone was pulsing, he stopped in his tracks and apologized before pulling it out and directly accepting. Nowadays, he really didn't dare to ignore it.
Seeing Leng Jin Yu, he couldn't help but become worried. "Did something happen?" Don't tell him Jinde had had an accident!
Leng Jin Yu shook his head though. "They finished with Xin Lan's matter. Anyway ... are you busy right now?"
Qiu Ling glanced over his shoulder to where Jing Yi and the seamstress stood and shook his head when he turned back. "Not particularly. Why?"
Leng Jin Yu smiled faintly. "Well, if that's the case ... how about coming to the Qishi Sea with us right now?"
