On the planet Eternia, the kingdom of Eternos was being attacked by an army of invaders, that were trying to storm inside the castle of Grayskul.
The army was known as the evil Horde.
While the other soldiers of Eternos were fighting, one guard was searching the castle where the royal family lived. With him there was the queen, Marlena, armed with a sword.
They were making sure that no intruder was inside the castle.
"Your majesty, I advise you to remain in the nursery. I'll come to find you when I'll be sure that the castel is safe" The guard said.
"Very well, Duncan" Marlena did as he suggested.
She went to lock herself inside the nursery. After she blocked the doors, the queen heard a baby crying from a crib.
"No need to cry. Mom's here" Marlena walked to the crib and put down her sword "Those horrible men won't find us as long as we stay here" .
In that moment, the queen felt a cold breeze on her face. She belived to see a cape moving, but it was just the curtain blowed by the wind: the window of the nursery was open.
Marlena turned around and saw two red eyes staring at her from the other side of the room.
"Who's there!?" Marlena grabbed her sword and held it up in the direction of the mysterious figure.
A tall man in armor walked out of the shadows. He had white and blue skin, pointy ears and a tiny nose, like a bat.
He walked closer to the queen, so she tried to stop him with her sword. The man protected himself with a shield that activated from the device around his wrist.
The shield was shaped like the symbol of the Horde.
Marlena finally recognized the man in front of her.
"You're Hordak!" She exclaimed.
The queen attacked him again and Hordak managed to grab her sword. He broke the blade into pieces like it was made of glass and Marlena was left with nothing to use to fight.
"No! Stay away from us!" The queen covered the crib with her body.
Hordak was confused.
"You're ready to risk your life for a baby that won't even remember you tomorrow?" He questioned, uncapable of understanding the love of a mother.
After pushing away the woman and making her fall on the floor, Hordak got closer to the crib. With surprise he found out that there were two babies, not one. They were wrapped in a red blanket; one of them was crying while the other was sleeping peacefuly.
Hordak held the sleeping baby in his arms.
"I'll take only one of them" he said to the queen, as if he was doing her a favor.
"No! Adora!" Marlena rushed towards Hordak and grabbed his cape "Leave her! Give me my baby!" She pulled the fabric and ripped a piece of it.
Hordak was able to escape from the nursery, jumping off the window that he used to get inside the castle.
"Your majesty, please open the doors!" .
"Marlena, it's me, Randor!"
The king and the guard that advised Marlena to stay in the nursery were trying get in.
Marlena quickly openned the doors.
"Randor! Duncan! Hordak was here and he took Adora!" The queen cried.
"Duncan, go call the other soldiers! We have to find him!" Randor ordered to the guard.
Right after the king said that, something happened not so far away from the castle: a beam of green light flashed in the sky of Eternos.
The war between the army of Eternos and the Horde ended there, with the disappearence of Hordak and princess Adora.

Eighteen years later, a planet called Etheria was facing another long war. On one side of the battlefield there was the Great Rebellion, formed by the Etherian royals. On the other side there was always the Horde, that wanted to conquer their kingdoms.
The base of the Horde was the Fright Zone, which was considered the most horrifying place on the planet by the Etherians.
Three young cadets were in the middle of their training session.
They had to fight ten robots, specifically built to make them embrace the emotions of a real battle. The cadets were waiting, safe in their hiding spot.
They were equipped with armors, helmets and laser rifles, like actual Horde soldiers.
"On the count of three. . . One, two, three!" One of the cadets said and they left the hiding spot.
A boy blasted a robot and made it fall down. He crouched next to it to take a small piece that fell apart.
"Sweet! I've never seen one in good conditions" he said, looking at the piece in his hand.
Another robot was standing right behind him, but a comrade of the boy blasted it and saved him.
"Thanks, Lohni" he told her.
"Romeo, stay focused on what we're doing!" Lohni scolded him.
"Right" Romeo continued to fight alongside the two cadets and they soon defeated all the training robots.
"Good job, guys!" The third cadet took off the helmet and her golden locks fell on her shoulders.
That girl was Adora, the baby that Hordak took from her mother eighteen years before, but she obviously didn't know that.
"Excellent work, cadets. Ten training robots taken down in less than twenty minutes. It's a new record" The Force Captain Grizzlor complimented them.
The cadets congratulated each other with slapps on the back and punches on the arms. That was how they showed affection in the Fright Zone.
"Enough! You did a good job, but you were supposed to be four on the training field. Where's the fourth member of your group?" Grizzlor questioned.
"We don't know where Catra is" Lohni said.
"Are we even surprised that she didn't show up?" Romeo asked sarcastic.
"Tipical of her to let us down like this" Adora shook her head.
"Fine. You three can go" Grizzlor dismissed them.

Adora, Lohni and Romeo changed their armors to wear their usual uniforms and then they walked to the canteen, to have lunch with the other cadets.
While they were crossing the corridors of the Fright Zone, Romeo and Lohni commented on the behavior of their comrade.
"Catra can't keep getting away with this! If we skipped our trainings, we would get in so much trouble. But her? Of course not!" Lohni complained.
"She doesn't need to worry about getting in trouble as long as she's protected by Shadow Weaver" Romeo continued. Goosebumps broke out after he said that name.
"Right, Adora?" He wanted to hear what she thought.
"If she's not responsable during our trainings, it's going to be hard to trust her on the battlefield. . ." Adora said "But, yes. She's Shadow Weaver's pet!" She added with a smirk.
"Yeah! She's her little kitten! Meow-meow-meow!" Romeo meowed, imitating a cat's ears with his hands.
Adora and Lohni laughed for his convincing imitation.
They arrived at the canteen and grabbed each one a food tray. A robot filled those with the soggy slop they always ate, but when it was Romeo's turn the tube that distribuited the food got stucked.
"Just my luck" Romeo put his arm inside the tube, to fumble with it.
"Be careful with that" Lohni told him.
"Try not to lose any finger, Meo" Adora joked.
"Don't worry, I know what I'm- AAAAH!" Romeo screamed. His friends got scared and screamed as well.
"Ha-ha! You fell for it!" The boy laughed, taking his arm out of the tube.
Adora laughed with him while Lohni looked tired of his sense of humor.
After Romeo fixed the food robot and recived his meal, the three cadets sat at the same table.
"I can't wait for the day we'll finally recive our promotion" Lohni said, looking disgusted at her meal "At least we could eat some real food, not this tasteless stuff" .
Adora snorted of amusement and her friends looked at her.
"When we'll be promoted, not only we'll get better food. . ." She stood up on the table and everyone in the canteen looked at her ". . .We'll also fight those nasty princesses, chase them away, and free this planet from them!" Adora exclaimed, raising her fork like a sword.
"You said it, Adora!" Romeo got on the table like her.
The two started a fake fight with their forks. Adora was the brave Horde soldier and Romeo was the evil princess.
"Guys, stop it! Someone could see you!" Lohni pleaded her friends, but they didn't listen.
The two started to jump from a table to another.
Adora pretended to stab her enemy in the heart, and Romeo fell at her feet.
"For the Horde!" She exclaimed and the all cadets cheered.
"ADORA!" Everyone went quiet when they heard that therrifying voice.
Shadow Weaver was there.
Adora jumped off the table. She could only imagine what kind of grimace Shadow Weaver was making under the red wood that covered her face.
The only thing that could be seen were her bright yellow eyes.
"This is not the behavior I expect from a senior cadet, Adora.  Shadow Weaver said, looking at the other cadets.
"I guess I'm just good at leading" Adora replied with a confident voice.
The other cadets thought that Shadow Weaver would responde with anger.
"You're probably right" Surprisely she agreed with Adora, or that's what she wanted them to believe.
Shadow Weaver said that Lord Hordak was back from his mission and he wanted to talk with Adora.
"Follow me" the woman gave one last glace at the cadets and walked to the exit of the canteen.
Adora blinked at her friends, to reassure them that everything was okay, then she followed Shadow Weaver.
