Chapter 24 Peekablue, where are you? (part 1)

While Glimmer, Frosta, Scorpia and Sea Hawk were in the Crimson Waste, the others were heading where Peekablue lived.
"There's a town. We could stop there to ask if someone knows Peekablue" Perfuma suggested.
"Good idea" Adam said.
Mermista was riding Spirit because she didn't want to walk.
"If I knew there was somebody with the power of seeing everywhere, I'd have tried to find her a long time ago" Adora laughed.
"I can imagine how confused you were when you found out about your origins. Have you ever felt like there was something missing in your life?" Adam asked to his sister.
"I've never questioned anything about myself before I left the Horde. And I grew up with people who were like siblings to me: Romeo, Lohni and. . . Catra" .
"Who's Catra?" Adam questioned.
"It doesn't matter. I'm sure I won't see her ever again" Adora answered.

When they arrived at the town, they started asking about Peekablue. The owner of a bakery told them there was someone who knew her well.
"You see that Twigget over there?" She indicated a little person with purple skin that was carrying a basket "Her name is Spritina. She's friends with Peekablue" .
Spritina walked away, so Adora and Adam went after her.
"Wait, Spiritina! Can you take us to-?" .
"R-r-robots!" Cringer stuttered.
Some Horde robots were in the town.
The twins raised their swords.
"For the honor-!" .
"By the power-!" .
"Of Grayskul!" .
After transforming, She-ra touched her head.
"I was hoping my hair would grow longer. . ." .
"Jealous?" He-man flipped his long hair.
He told his sister to find Spritina while him, Perfuma and Mermista fought the robots.
Perfuma made roots grow and crushed three robots with them. Mermista took all the water that was in a fountain and used it to push a robot against a wall.
She whipped it with the water over and over again until the robot broke into pieces.
"Mermista, could you-?" Perfuma pointed at the empty fountain.
Mermista made the water go back in there but it was dirty and she splashed most of it.
Perfuma wasn't happy about that.

She-ra found the Twigget and tried to calm her down.
"It's okay, Spritina. Me and my friends are with the Great Rebellion. We're looking for Peekablue" .
Spritina was scared, and not because of She-ra.
A robot was standing behind the warrior, holding a rifle. Before it could fire, someone jumped on the robot and ripped off its head.
Spritina was relieved, but She-ra was just stearing at the person who saved them.
"Hi, Adora" Catra akwardly saluted her.
She-ra's blank expression quickly changed into an angry glare. It was like she had fire in her eyes. She charged towards Catra, threating of punching her face and Catra ran away.

Adam detransformed after they defeated all the robots.
"Did you see where Adora go?" He asked to Perfuma and Mermista.
They saw Catra running their way, with She-ra after her.
"Come here to get your deserved punch!" .
Catra went to hide behind Mermista.
A pink lion suddently showed up and put himself before Catra, growling at She-ra to protect his friend.
"Calm down, Claws" Catra said, petting him.
She-ra decided to leave her alone for the moment and she detransformed.
"Adora, who's this?" Adam asked.
"I'm Catra! Repented Force Captain and wandering hero. This is my loyal friend, Claws" Catra introduced both of them.
"Hero!?" Adora exclaimed.
"We travel town to town and fight away the Horde. In the meantime I'm working on bettering myself" Catra told Perfuma how sorry she was for locking her in a cage when they met.
"I. . . I appreciate your apology" Perfuma tried to smile.
"I don't know you, but if I did anything that hurted you, I'm really sorry" Catra said to Mermista.
"The Horde caused the death of my beloved pet. . . So if you give me your lion, we can call it even" Mermista lied.
"Mermista!" Adora yelled to make her stop.
"And you-" Catra went to Adam "Your face looks familiar" she looked at him and then at Adora, but she couldn't grasp the obvious resemblance.
"My name is Adam. I'm Adora's brother" He said, shaking her hand.
"That's impossible. If you're her brother, how come you didn't grow up in the Fright Zone with us?" Catra questioned.
"He is my brother. And you are NOT a hero!" Adora railed her.
Claws growled again and Adora made a step back.
"Did you find Spritina?" Adam asked to her.
"Oh, no! I left her in that alley!" .
"She's here" Spirit said. He had Spritina on his back.

The rebells discussed what they had to do.
"It's better if we separate. Adam and I will go find Peekablue with Spritina. Mermista and Perfuma will stay in this town with Catra, in case more robots show up" Adora established.
Perfuma trembled at the thought of dealing with Mermista and Catra at the same time.
"Wait. There's no need for both of us to go find Peekablue. One twin is enough for this mission" Adam said.
Adora wonderec what he meant.
"I'll stay with Mermista and Perfuma. Catra and Claws can go with you and Spritina" The boy added.
Adora's eyes went round.
"Hooray! Team work!" Catra raised her hand for a high five, but Adora ignored her. She took her brother by the arm to talk with him in private.
"Adam, what are you doing?" .
"I just want to find Peekablue. . . And I want to give you and Catra a chance to make peace" He admitted.
"You're wrong if you think we can be friends again! Catra has crossed the line too many times. She tried to kill me, she kidnapped Glimmer and spent a year helping the Horde" Adora told him.
"I didn't know that. You said she was like a sister to you, so I thought you could use this change to talk" .
Adora looked unsure.
"But if she tries anything, I promise we'll beat the blue out of her together" Adam raised his fist.
"That's what I wanted to hear" Adora started to laugh.
Catra was looking at them. She was remembering when Adora used to laugh with her like she was doing with that boy.

An hour later, Adam, Cringer and Perfuma were patrolling the town. Mermista was sitting next to the fountain, playing with a globe of water.
"Forgive me, Mermista. I have the feeling that you don't fully understand how precious water is for us" Perfuma sounded concerned.
"It's water. This planet is mostly covered by it" Mermista said.
"The water of the land is not the same water of your kindom. It's essencial for the life forms of our world. It's everywhere: in the plants, in the animals and even in ourselves. Water is what connects all of us!" Perfuma drammaticaly openned her arms.
"Are you going to sing?" Mermista asked.
Perfuma resigned herself to the fact that the princess was not interested in what she was saying.

Thanks to Spritina, Adora, Spirit, Catra and Claws arrived at the entrance of Peekablue's cave, on the mountain behind the town.
"It's so dark" Catra was trying to glimpse in that darkness.
When Adora took her sword, she flinched.
"What's the matter?" Adora asked.
"Nothing. . ." Catra touched her covered chest.
"Sword to lantern" Adora used the lantern to light up their way.
They walked in a large room in the deepest part of the mountain.
Peekablue was sitting on a bed, with her eyes closed and her long feather tail down.
"Greetings, Adora and Catra. Welcome to my home" Peekablue softly said.
"You know us?" Adora asked.
"I saw you were coming" Peekablue answered.
"That's creepy" Catra whispered.
"I'm sorry. My eyes allow me to see everywhere but, alas, they can't see what's right in front of me" Peekablue openned her eyes: they were clear like crystal balls.
"Do you know why we're here?" Adora asked.
"Because your brother was hoping you two could work on your hostility" .
"No. We want to know what the Horde is up to" Adora explained with clenged teeth.
"That doesn't sounds like a bad idea though" Catra said.
"Don't start with this! We have something more important to do!" Adora raised her voice.
"Why are you acting like this? I'm trying to be a better person, like you" Catra argued.
"Saying sorry to a couple of people won't change what you've done! And you didn't apologized to me. At least I've apologized for bullying you when I was with the Horde" .
"And that's the only thing you regret doing to me?" .
"What else have I done?" .
Catra took off her shawl, revealing the long scar She-ra gave her.
Adora gasped.
"The blood on my sword was yours. . .?" .
She needed a moment after that, so Adora walked out of the cave.
