20: Day off

Tamara's POV 

I slowly opened my eyes and looked around the room. I was back in my room. I sat up on my bed and clutched my throbbing head. I wasn't wearing my mask so I couldn't really say anything but something in me gave me the idea to try and speak.

So I opened my mouth and tried to say a word but nothing came out. The only thing that changed was my now aching throat. Still, my efforts were futile, at this point I didn't know whether I'd speak again. Suddenly, the door opened and in came Cia holding a glass of water for me and placed it on my bed side table.

"Morning Tamara. Glad to see you up." She said and sat by my feet. I nodded with a smile to here then made a sleeping motion.

"Oh umm are you asking about how long you slept.?" She asked and I nodded my head.

"Oh well, you slept for at least 11 hours. By the time you got int the ship, you passed out from exhaustion." She explained and I nodded my head.

"Are you feeling better?" She asked and I made a '50 50' motion and pointed at my head and throat. She then took a closer look at my throat and winced.

"That looks bad. You're wounds are still wet and I think it's best you lay off the missions or training for a while. We wouldn't want your neck to open up." She said and winced and nodded my head. I reached for the glass of water and chugged it down.

Just as I set the glass down, the door opened again and in came Alex and Gidget. Alex handed me a bowl of cereal and I nodded in thank you as Gidget sat next to me on the floor.

"Nice to see you up sis. How you feeling?" He asked as he sat on the  chair by my desk. I then looked at CIA and motioned towards him.

"Her head is a bit painful as well as her throat. It seems her wounds are taking long to heal so she needs to wear long necked clothing to avoid too much air on them." Cia explained and Gidget shook her head.

"Man that's tough. Maybe we should take a break today, you know, for Tamara's sake. She's been stressed lately and she could really use a breather." Gidget explained and I nodded my head.

"Gidget's right.....and she's also trying to run away from the whip" cia said and we all snickered.

"Am not. Mind you, I'm now a pro at that contraption!" She said proudly which just added to our laughter although I could only smile.

"Well I guess you're right. We could all use a break sooo.....,how about we head to a nearby planet with a beach!" Alex explained and we all nodded our heads and high fived.

"That settles it then. BEACH DAY!" Cia said and we all nodded our heads.

"Alright ladies, pack your stuff, we leave in about 2 dobashes!" Alex said and walked out the room. I reached over for my mask and clipped it on.

"I guess we should get packing then." I said and got off the bed to my closet.

"Hey Tamara...did you ever got to the beach on earth?" Cia asked and I smiled under my mask.

"Yes actually, there's this one time I went with Keith, Shiro and my mom." I started and Gidget motioned for me to explain.

"Well....."

Flashback 

We got to the beach with our stuff and I tied my hair into a ponytail.

"Check at the view Keith! It's better than the Garrison!" I said and adjusted my glasses. 

"You can say that again" he said and  looked around.
